.......just opened mine a few minutes ago,,,,,I have never owned any cartoon-ish type car kit, ever....but made my first exception here....this is one neat little number, and will build into a pleasing and fun piece....glad I grabbed one, might grab another...fun, fun...the Ace..

I'm going out to buy one today, oh, your right....dump the antennae and maybe those eyeballs too, and it would be a neat little piece to build and own. great pics and review ,Bob,......thanks again......best, the Ace....

...just a note here,,,,the Model King AMT 701/2 Z28 is much nicer all round than all the others mentioned.....its molded in white, has little flash or irritating plastic flaws in general, not to mention a killer decal sheet with various stripes, and decals to build a Trans Am or SCCA type race car with other goodies on the expanded sheet as well. sorry I can't provide pics at this time, no camera right now. anyhow, they are usually around on ebay most of the time, and well worth it if you like the F body Camaro line as I do....just my 2 cents...the Ace...

that's nice of you to post this for us, Bob,,,,and thanks. oddly enough, I never have had interest in ANY of the toyish or cartoon-ish kits from the past, but for some strange reason find this to be just too cute and too cool to pass up. have to get one this weekend, as my local shop got them in today....best, the Ace.........

..........that may not be a bad thing, John....lots of collectors will want that, and you probably can fetch enough to buy yourself two more...just a thought...the Ace,,,,

How About Some Stalled Projects?
AC Norton replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
......at this time,,,,,, AMT 76 Gremlin X, AMT 65 Chevelle wagon, AMT 53 Ford pickup, original AMT 64 Corvette coupe, and the AMT 68 Roadrunner I'm actually working on as we speak.... most all of these go back 2 or 3 years from starting them, and I actually have performed lots of work on each one, but getting side tracked by looking at, and making plans to build others. between buying kits all the time, then taping parts together and figuring out each project as I would like to build it, others end up stalled, boxed away, or just forgotten for long periods. I bought 3 new kits today, but am determined to follow thru on my present build,,,,I'm leaving them sealed.....for now...lol......the Ace.... -
great work there, Steve....your colors blend perfectly, and the car just looks right on in every way......nice piece and well executed....the Ace....

Has Anyone Built This Kit? Quality? MPC 1960 Corvette
AC Norton replied to Quick GMC's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Robert, to the best of my knowledge the 56/57 vette MPC came out again in the early 80s by MPC as the Velvet Vette issue, molded in silver, and containing most, but not all of the stock items from the original. it did not have stock wheel covers or stock tires, but did have the hard top and conv. top options. the hood was also gasser style, cut out for for the ram tubes, and I don't think the stock hood or basic intake and carb was in there either. now, even though I have the original 56/57, I don't have other issues to compare. as for the many flip nose 57 Vettes and 60 Vettes, , I think they were a different mold altogether. I also will mention that the current MPC 60 Vette that was released a few months back has all its original parts, not to mention some of the 56/57 pieces on the trees as well...........hope all this may help.....the Ace.... -

I was just working on my 68 'runner a few minutes ago, and at the same time once again playing with both the 60 and 57 MPC vettes between work stints.....boy, do I love these two, always have....taping one partially together with the rag top, wide whites up front, and MH biters on the rear, accompanied with the steel open wheels in both kits, you can just see the flagman jumping up to start a pair of mod sports down the quarter, slicks putting down a haze of gray smoke as the fans gawk from the fence .....they are next, once my bench gets a clean up, Richard....the Ace... -
Has Anyone Built This Kit? Quality? MPC 1960 Corvette

.......while some paint and such is drying on my 68 Road Runner that I am presently building, I have been eyeballing and messing around with my new issue MPC 60 Vette, and an MPC 56/57 Vette original I just got in. they are up next after I complete this 'bird , and even though I have owned these 2 kits over the years, and built the 60 vette in 1969 when current, these still give me that buzz they did then. the options alone, not to mention the creative possibilities with either of these are amazing.... my builds will be of a 60s era drag team pair, classed in NHRA Sports Production classes, one with injectors or maybe the blower and low windscreen,,,the other a hardtop with dual carbs and open wheels and the like....can't wait to jump in to them, maybe the newer issue Vette kits are supposedly better, but i'll have more of these , please...lol....the Ace................. -
hi Bill,,,,interesting build there, nice to see one built using the new decal sheet.....I would bet that Round 2 would gladly send you another sheet if you claimed it defective,,,,then those unfortunate decal woes can be fixed....just a thought.....the Ace....

hey again, Jesse.....SIR was my dad,,,,but Ace is fine...lol.....maybe when I get my knighthood it will fly, but I haven't been called yet.....lol....anyhow, bought another 60 Vette today, my second, with a few other kits, and between wrestling my 68 Road Runner to submission, I've been playing and test fitting parts from the Vette. this old gal just calls to some of us older guys that may have built one when the original was current, as I did. my aunt and uncle from Barstow Cal. were visiting up here in the summer of 69, and they brought it for me as one of my many gifts. I built it with the dual carb set up, open wheels, and hardtop after spraying it with AMT paint, color was a bronze metallic.....I loved it, and can't wait to dive into another one. again, thanks for sharing that photo, its one of my fondest car kit memories ever........the Ace..... -
