.....if all kits /and or toy items are declared as gift parcel - 15.00 to 20.00 , there should be no problems, sending out, or having sent to you. that ebay global shipping is the biggest rip off of all, making the expense of hobby items just ridiculous, putting money in the pocket of your customs offices.......send with a lower declared value, and make certain there is no ebay invoice in the parcel.............

hi again Greg, my issue is the model king one from 2005....but I also have the BC ratpacker molded in grey from the late 90s. they had little flash on the parts, and for fit and such, a bit of filing and fitting resolves that in most areas. the interiors are stripped race-only style, but a modeller like you,,,i looked at your builts, they are super nice,,,, will have little trouble tuning one of these kits to your liking. build one, and post it on this forum for all to enjoy...lol...the ace........

hello greg, interested to hear what online info scared you off building yours....its a fairly simple kit, as we all know the amt awb cars are, but can be a fun build with great results......the ace.....

outstanding build....I just love it. perfect, all way round................the ace........ -
stay tuned, boys.....the pics and more info to be posted a bit later,,,,and yes, one of my favorite kits of all time. great idea too, if round 2 could restore all the parts and re issue this with the pop up garage and all......why not, the manx dune buggy got re issued a couple of years back and it had the pop up burger stand and all the original parts, as you know....the ace.....

hello to all, thought I may share a little info, that some of you will already know, about an old favorite kit of mine, the AMT hillbilly hauler. I guess I get a bit sentimental about this model, as I got it for XMAS 1968 along with 7 other kits. I know most of us have all the info needed about the many Lindberg issues of this little gem, however for some of us, I thought I may share info regarding some very nice little goodies that appeared in the original issue 34 ford pickup, as well as the second issue that was around in 1965 or 66, then finally in 68 with this issue..... the street rods issue from the 73-74 era, and the stake truck version a bit later, like the Lindberg versions, did not have some of the features I will list here. photos to show these will be posted with this thread in the next day or so, to compare the parts with the Lindberg kit............the hillbilly hauler has-2 chrome spot lights--a very nice 2 piece trophy --chrome adjustable wrench--a large 2 piece service fire extinguisher--4 large concrete blocks--service road flares--2 small square gas cans--4 way lug wrench--pair of mud flaps--and a nice, 4 piece tire rack. if you like vintage service equipment, the hauler is a neat kit. anyhow, I will get some pics on here soon, showing some other features of interest too.....the early versions also have a very nice ribbed box cover, where the Lindberg version is basically flat.....more to follow...........the ace.......

actually, the best of both worlds is to obtain the re issued MODIFIED STOCKER set with the 53 ford p/u and the trailer......its cast in a nice crisp white, and includes all the goodies, tools, etc...plus a nice decal sheet with many race and gas station items. just a thought for those who may be planning to buy the new 53 ford p/u and grabbing a trailer kit as well somewhere.....might be less expensive this way, as EBAY usually has the mod set I mentioned most all the time, and they sometimes sell at a reasonable price.......great box art too.......the ace.....

just a little beauty, that's for sure. I have 2 of these kits and seeing one as killer as this makes me itchy to build one....very nice in that out of box AMT classic look.....congrats, the ace..........

...just an opinion regarding Mr. Morrison's initial question to us all.......I feel that some pro builders obtain a certain celebrity status during their model building years, that sometimes gets elevated by the hype and glory of a big contest win, or two, or three....once a celebrated builder is known around the hobby, or if their work is posted in magazine articles, I think some builders enjoy that status, and may at that point feel that building anything that isn't a mind blowing, show stopper isn't what the crowd expects of them.....lets face it, almost everyone enjoys having their well deserved 15 minutes,,but for many that 15 minutes just isn't enough. I have always thought that every car model builder should always build and enjoy his or her hobby as they and they alone see fit. the bar has been raised so high in the last 10-15 years due to many new and terrific products we can buy, not to mention all the help and ideas and comparisons on a forum such as this, that many builders have been able to strive to heights in the hobby that most could only dream of back 25-30 years back. however, one of my favorite EAGLES lyrics says it all........they will never forget you 'till somebody new comes along.........the ace............

truly great fun and memories from the best times in model building.....seeing cleaned up survivors is a rarity now, with the look and feel of the true era of when a kit was first built. wish I had all of mine......I have a soft spot for your green m/p car, as one of my closest friends got that annual kit summer of 69, and I recall how excited all of our friends were to see it built as a drag car. amt fire flake blue, ratman decals, the works...finished in a day, as usual....don't ya wish that feeling of building a car kit felt just like it did in those days.......the ace.....
