Sad thing is, that was 21 years ago. Think of all the sales they could've had and the builds we could've had if they would've done one or two more runs since then. I often wonder about why these companies pass on the no-brainer stuff.

Has anyone else spotted these at Hobby Lobby? I've checked two different stores a couple of times in the last week and nothing but the Super Bosses and their seemingly endless supply of White-Freightliner DDs.

Truck-A-Thon 2017 'list is assembled'
Mike77 replied to tbill's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'll probably give it another go. Like most I'll just have to decide on a project. -
I wonder if Hobby Lobby will carry these, especially since they had the Super Boss.

Interesting that they show a price for the combo kit that's close to the price of each of the individual kits. -
K100E conversion for Revell kits
Mike77 replied to Fat Brian's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks guys! I've never built the Revell version(s) of the KW COE. Sure would've be nice to have the Aerodyne option for this one. -

Great work so far Brian! Does the reissued K-100 have an Aerodyne roof option? I noticed in your first pic it's an Aerodyne but the kit shows a flat top. -

Truck Kits You've Scored Recently

Cool score! I didn't know there was a scale version of Ed Force One...doesn't it come with a little Bruce Dickinson in the pilot's seat? -
Hobby Lobby Bankruptcy?
Mike77 replied to Jim B's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hobby Lobby is a religious-based business and their opposition to the Affordable Care Act started the rumors years ago that they would be going out of business. I think at most they would close 40% of their stores. Sorry, I couldn't resist that one! -
big rig build off part 2
Mike77 replied to tbill's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'd be interested in giving this a go again. I agree that a name change would be the way to go. Even though I had to drop out before the bottom fell out I still felt bad for the guys who were in it for the long run. -
Which is the easier build

Ahhh...that makes sense. I never thought about it from that angle. Thanks! -

Not trying to hijack the thread, but does anyone know why the Freightliner is a multi-piece cab? As far as I know it's the only kit COE that's like that, all the others that I know of are one piece. -

NEW release - White Freightliner Single-Drive (AMT 1004)
Mike77 replied to steve1970's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I hope so. All the Hobby Lobby stores I frequent have an endless supply of the Freightliner DDs but no SDs yet. -

I've used those amber and red craft "rhinestones" for years, they work very well. I've bought them at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and even Ebay when I couldn't find what I needed in the stores. All the lights on the 1/16 wrecker I did about 15 years ago, as well as all the other 1/16 customs I did, are stones from Michaels, trimmed down to the size & shape I needed with a Dremel... -

Very nice Pete and nice haul on the awards! I've never built one of those but I might have to if I can snag one for under a fortune! -
Truck Kits You've Scored Recently
Mike77 replied to Superpeterbilt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was at a nearby Hobby Lobby today and they had a couple of the Super Boss kits there. I passed on them as I'm not really into racing rigs. If the Freightliner SD kits start showing up there I might grab a couple of those. -
Hey guys, my KW has suffered irreversible damage to the cab/sleeper so I have to pull out of the contest. I'll use the chassis and fenders for something else eventually. I hate to have come this far only to have to sit on the sidelines but there's nothing I can do. Best of luck to the remaining contestants. Hopefully there's another contest next year with better results for me!

The Hobby Lobby stores in my area seem to only have an endless supply of WF DD COES, maybe clearance sales will make them finally disappear.
