  1. IH Transtar II - a no-brainer reissue and it'd sell like crazy. Revell Peterbilt Can-Do/Will-Do wrecker - I know it hasn't been a long time, but they're back in the $200 range on the aftermarket. KW Transit mixer - probably the holy grail of truck kits but it's never been reissued to my knowledge.
  2. I've used Chrome Tech for as long as I can remember. I just send the parts loose and they come back plated in 4-6 weeks. Can anyone enlighten me on the other two companies regarding turnaround time and how comparable their prices are? I've never wanted to mess with mounting the parts myself so I like the convenience of sending the parts loose.
  3. Sad thing is, that was 21 years ago. Think of all the sales they could've had and the builds we could've had if they would've done one or two more runs since then. I often wonder about why these companies pass on the no-brainer stuff.
  4. Nothin' wrong with extra axles!
  5. This is the only one that made it to the finish line for me in 2016...
  6. Has anyone else spotted these at Hobby Lobby? I've checked two different stores a couple of times in the last week and nothing but the Super Bosses and their seemingly endless supply of White-Freightliner DDs.
  7. I'll probably give it another go. Like most I'll just have to decide on a project.
  8. I wonder if Hobby Lobby will carry these, especially since they had the Super Boss.
  9. Interesting that they show a price for the combo kit that's close to the price of each of the individual kits.
  10. Thanks guys! I've never built the Revell version(s) of the KW COE. Sure would've be nice to have the Aerodyne option for this one.
  11. Great work so far Brian! Does the reissued K-100 have an Aerodyne roof option? I noticed in your first pic it's an Aerodyne but the kit shows a flat top.
  12. Now that'll be a beast! And they thought mine was unrealistic ...
  13. Cool score! I didn't know there was a scale version of Ed Force One...doesn't it come with a little Bruce Dickinson in the pilot's seat?
  14. Hobby Lobby is a religious-based business and their opposition to the Affordable Care Act started the rumors years ago that they would be going out of business. I think at most they would close 40% of their stores. Sorry, I couldn't resist that one!
  15. I'd be interested in giving this a go again. I agree that a name change would be the way to go. Even though I had to drop out before the bottom fell out I still felt bad for the guys who were in it for the long run.
  16. Ahhh...that makes sense. I never thought about it from that angle. Thanks!
  17. Not trying to hijack the thread, but does anyone know why the Freightliner is a multi-piece cab? As far as I know it's the only kit COE that's like that, all the others that I know of are one piece.
  18. Lookin' good Rich, lookin' good!
  19. I hope so. All the Hobby Lobby stores I frequent have an endless supply of the Freightliner DDs but no SDs yet.
  20. Anyone know if this one will be in Hobby Lobby?
  21. I've used those amber and red craft "rhinestones" for years, they work very well. I've bought them at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and even Ebay when I couldn't find what I needed in the stores. All the lights on the 1/16 wrecker I did about 15 years ago, as well as all the other 1/16 customs I did, are stones from Michaels, trimmed down to the size & shape I needed with a Dremel...
  22. Not technically big rigs but these were at a huge car show I was at in downtown Springfield, Illinois today...
  23. Very nice Pete and nice haul on the awards! I've never built one of those but I might have to if I can snag one for under a fortune!
  24. I was at a nearby Hobby Lobby today and they had a couple of the Super Boss kits there. I passed on them as I'm not really into racing rigs. If the Freightliner SD kits start showing up there I might grab a couple of those.
  25. The clear coat had a reaction with the paint. So I tried the oven cleaner stripper thing I've heard so much about. That had a reaction with the clear coat, the paint, the primer, and the body filler. Then I had a reaction to the whole thing.
