  1. I believe the Peterbilt 352 will have Coca-Cola livery...I saw it somewhere online. The box art is similar to the Coke Ford Short Hauler.
  2. That's a beauty, love the detail!
  3. That's awesome, as is the Aerodyne! Coincidentally those are the fenders I was thinking about using as well. Your model gives me even more motivation on this build, thanks!
  4. If you have any pics of the one you built can you please post them?
  5. To my knowledge Mack never made a double-bunk Cruiseliner so I thought it would be fun to make a "what if" model of one. I have more work to do on it with sanding and primer, but you get the idea...
  6. Great looking Volvo! I've never built one...the kit doesn't come with an engine???
  7. I really think the wagon is pulling him !!!
  8. I've seen that one many times on the interweb and I always thought it was pretty cool. Looking forward to seeing your project!
  9. Great work! That's probably the only way we'll ever see any modern rigs in scale so we might as well embrace what we can in non-kit form. With Christmas two months away I'm sure a lot of those will be showing up in stores. I might have to grab a few. Like you said, you can't beat that price!
  10. Thanks guys, I'll check everything out. I was hoping to find a grille with vertical bars but it looks like I'll have to scratch build one.
  11. Does anyone make any aftermarket/custom parts for the International Lonestar kit? Also, I came across a parts website a few months back that offered drop front axles for the Peterbilt 378 but I can't recall the site. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  12. I'm hoping this one shows up at Hobby Lobby.
  13. This Mack looks good to me too. Although not very likely unless Moebius steps up, I'd like to see some newer rigs like this one and maybe a new-style Pete or KW. Moebius seems to have the IH license but maybe they could look into Paccar. I love the old trucks too but I can only build so many of them before I get that "same ol', same ol'" feeling. I see the new stuff on the road and think of what great builds I could do but it's just a flight of fancy with no kits available. Granted the new trucks don't have many of the "shiny parts" anymore, tanks and battery boxes are hidden behind fairings, vertical exhausts have all but disappeared, etc., but I still think some of the rigs look pretty sleek.
  14. I think so too. I'm not made of money and the AA Interceptor is stretching my toy budget by quite a bit but as long as I've waited for one I'll take the plunge. The only thing that's unfortunate about it is that it's a "composite" model rather than diecast. The Road Warrior versions were diecast. Sign of the times though.
  15. Although it'll be pricey I plan on getting one of the AutoArt 1/18 Interceptors.
  16. Sam's Clubs carry them also for $13.98. They start getting them around August and continue to carry them through Christmas. I've picked up several Corvettes and a Ferrari so far.
  17. Even as a kid in the 1970's I considered the Ertl kits to be better quality than AMT kits, even with the limited subject matter.
  18. I did scratch build the wrecker bed and boom as well as the chassis of course. Naturally the whole thing was loosely based on the Can-Do. I don't want to hijack your thread with a bunch of pics but here are a few. The first photo is a "waiting for the chrome to come back from Chrome-Tech" shot...
  19. That's the good thing about working with plastic, you can almost always improvise. Even following the carpenter's adage mistakes can still be made. I think it'll look great any way you go about it. I remember getting frustrated more than once when I was building my 1/16 wrecker years ago but I just kept chugging away at it.
  20. Wow!!! Thanks for the pics Kerry! I'm diggin' on the '49 Studebaker COE and the big white QuadGraphics Pete. Lots of great pics and great model ideas!
  21. Looks like a great project! You've outdone my 5-axle by a mile, guess it's time for a 7-axle...
  22. I'm guessing that has to do with licensing issues. Too bad lawyer's have to screw up the hobby for the rest of us, but I guess everyone wants a piece of the pie.
  23. Thought I'd start a thread where we can post pics of trucks we see in our random travels. Besides being pics of awesome rigs they also give great building ideas! I saw this beast the other day, an Oshkosh 8x8. Not a typical road truck but it was a monster!
  24. IH Transtar II - a no-brainer reissue and it'd sell like crazy. Revell Peterbilt Can-Do/Will-Do wrecker - I know it hasn't been a long time, but they're back in the $200 range on the aftermarket. KW Transit mixer - probably the holy grail of truck kits but it's never been reissued to my knowledge.
  25. I've used Chrome Tech for as long as I can remember. I just send the parts loose and they come back plated in 4-6 weeks. Can anyone enlighten me on the other two companies regarding turnaround time and how comparable their prices are? I've never wanted to mess with mounting the parts myself so I like the convenience of sending the parts loose.
