  1. It was mentioned here awhile back but I can't find it...which Moebius trailer has a chrome bulkhead?
  2. That's downright awesome, a real work of art!
  3. I picked up a Revell Kenworth W900 Aerodyne for parts at Hobby Lobby today and I had to chuckle at the box art. I know I'm not the first to notice this, but the lightning really did a number on the fifth wheel!!!
  4. Great work, a classic look!
  5. They were both that way in the two kits I used for my double-sleeper build.
  6. Thank you, that's exactly what I needed!
  7. Can someone please give me the height of a Kenworth conventional aerodyne sleeper, in regular inches not scale inches? Either AMT or Revell is fine, they're probably close. Thanks!
  8. Thanks everyone! Cruiseliners have never been my favorite either but I thought it'd be something different.
  9. All done, more pics in the "Under Glass" section...
  10. No, it's not the latest burger offering from Mickey D's! It's not as super-detailed as many of the builds here but I'm calling my double-bunk Cruiseliner done...
  11. Speaking of licensing I always wondered about the Revell Beall Tank Trailer. The original issue had "Beall" in big text on the box but the reissue didn't have it, yet the Beall name was still on the mud flaps. I wonder if that was an "oops". I've never built the dozer but it might be fun to put one together after all these years.
  12. I wish I could find custom rear fenders like that. They used to show up on Ebay occasionally but it's been a long time.
  13. Downright awesome! This is why I wish we'd get a few modern rigs in kit form, imagine the possibilities!
  14. I've finally made enough progress on this project to post a couple of update photos. I'm in the home stretch now and I'm hoping I'll be able to put this one "Under Glass" soon.
  15. Thanks for the info on the frames. I'll probably be using two of the Papa frames for the project I have warming up in the bullpen after I get my double-bunk Cruiseliner done.
  16. He probably saw the new Revell KW Aerodyne, I believe the only AMT done lately was the Papa truck version. I sure wish the Papa trucks would've shown up in Hobby Lobby like the Super Bosses did. Speaking of Aerodyne COEs, I saw a beautiful blue one pulling a livestock trailer today. I was a later model with rectangular headlights. Seeing any cabovers around here is rare, and seeing an Aerodyne was a real rarity.
  17. Thanks! I have the chassis mostly done, just a couple more things to do to it before I get it painted...hopefully this coming weekend. After that I'll start on the engine. It usually doesn't take me this long to do a build but like most of us life gets in the way of our hobbies.
  18. Great progress! I did "wheels up" on mine just for an added touch.
  19. Thanks guys! I'm trying to decide what direction I want to go with this truck. Given my penchant for bling I'm leaning toward something "modern-retro" if that makes any sense.
  20. I have the cab painted and striped, now it's time to gradually get working on the engine & chassis. I'm sure I'll have to stretch the frame a bit to accommodate the longer cab.
  21. I wasn't actually referring to just the "News & Reviews" section, but all the truck sections. And it's not that I have trouble finding the big rig stuff, I just find it time-consuming and, to be honest, unnecessary when the big rig topics and pickup/SUV/van topics could be separated. No one is bashing either category, and there's no need to. This isn't "big rig builders against pickup builders", or vice-versa. It's about what makes it easiest for both to enjoy and share their hobby with others who have the same interests. I can only speak for myself and all I'm saying is that I'm more likely to spend time here if I can easily access the content that interests me. If this forum were made more user-friendly for truck people, whether the trucks have 18 wheels or 4, that would attract more visitors and possibly more builders into the hobby for both categories. In a hobby where most of our subject matter is from 40 years ago (big rigs) I think everything feasible should be done to encourage visibility.
  22. Honestly I don't spend as much time here lately because I get tired of wading through the pickup truck posts to find the big rig threads and posts that interest me. I'm sure some pickup guys feel the same way toward the big rig stuff. The bottom line is the moderators should do what's in the best interest of the members AND what keeps members actively participating in the forums. Just my .02
  23. Thanks guys, especially Rick who gave me some photographic inspiration. I've got color on the cab, I just have to finish some stripe work and I'll post cab pics soon. I'm working 6 days a week right now so I'll have to take baby steps with this one.
  24. Just a follow-up...my Auto Art Mad Max Interceptor arrived the other day and it's worth every penny I paid for it and then some. I picked up some MFP fender and license plate stickers on Ebay just to complete the car and it's spot-on!
