  1. This is the latest issue Allison Monte. I built it like the car Bobby drove for Junior Johnson in 72. It has a amt TBird frt frame and truck arms added to the kits chassis. Modified the front to be like a 71 nose. This is how the real car was. Used the cage from the TBird as well with lots of mods. Scratchbuilt engine bars and air cleaner. Kit decals except for the trunk from a set from Mikes. PPP wheels and later AMT tires
  2. This is the Laguna Dick drove in USAC in 74. It was updated after this to a slantnose Laguna and Bruce Jacobi drove it in NASCAR. It is a lastest release Pepsi Laguna backdated to a 74 by reshaping the back end and adding a spare 73 Laguna nose to it. Sitting on a stretched AMT TBird chassis with a Revell 427 engine. Resin wheels from Mikes decals. Custom decals.
  3. Nobody except Johan has gotten the Colonade body GM windshield right. The back of the roof on Montes seems difficult too. Never seen a model or diecast I thought was even 90% correct there.
  4. I love the 89-96 AMT Thunderbird kits. Just never built one as a Thunderbird. But they have provided a great chassis for at least 40 seventies builds. Torinos Montegos, Chevelles ,Lagunas a Grand Am and now a SalvinosJRModels Cutlass. They pass for a Banjo chassis on so I use them for that.
  5. I like the short one. Lots of short bumpers around in the seventies early eighties.
  6. The frt bumper on the diecast is closer to right. It wraps around the corners better and has the intake slots that are missing on the kit. I do think the diecast rear bumper is wrong too.
  7. I will say the body is free of sink marks and has minimal part lines. Most of the big companies can’t pull that off.
  8. A Nichels Mopar should look like this. Picture not the greatest.
  9. Yes but they still had a fabbed k member of sorts not like this chassis . This chassis has a engine crossmember similar to a ford Holman Moody would have
  10. That would be a better use of the chassis. But the chassis still isn’t even that right for a Chrysler. No k member?
  11. I just took the body glass seat and decals. The dash is nice too. The rest can go. When I’m done putting it on a different chassis it will be a nice shelf model.
  12. Not to sound stupid but what was the reason for the offset cab?
  13. How is that kit? Always thought about getting it
  14. Absolutely always use white primer under yellow. Yellow hides poorly the pigments to make yellows are not strong.
  15. Interior is done. Steering wheel isn’t the best.
  16. I looked for one since high school. Found it three years ago. I’m waaay past high school too! Building a model of it too.
  17. I have a 72 Montego GT that I fixed up. Basic 351 Cleveland 2bbl. Can drive it anywhere
  18. This is cool. Looks like you need the right nose though. That car was way ahead of its time for American cars. What else could be a four door performance car with floor shift and buckets in 73?
  19. Thanks guys this is one of my favorite builds .
  20. So true!!!
