A few USAC guys ran them out the back in the early 70s. Part of hat makes the car cool. Wierd how they ran them under the axle too.

Thanks Mark I always like yours too.

My dad did that to me with a 67 Skylark. I loved that car.

I wish the model was done a little better.

That’s what color this one was. It was too boring for me so I made my own color.

Thanks Ron that was a ton of work and parts are unobtainium.

Here is a couple more pictures . It’s going to get a 351 Cleveland NASCAR engine. I need to make a firewall frt wheel wells and other stuff yet. I still don’t really like the bumpers but I got sick of arguing with it.

It has a chassis from a Motor City Resin Torino. That I put the body on a NASCAR chassis.

I can see this as a problem. Has really become that way for many businesses since the rise of the internet. -
This started as a resin I got on the bay. Rough would be the understatement of the year. Ended up throwing out both bumpers and the frt valance. Built my own from scratch. Far from perfect still. Every few months I mess with it. Then it frustrates me and aside it goes for a while more.It is at least painted and on wheels I like now. This is a model of my real GT

I noticed something in looking at this old thread. The promo 71-72 Toro has the correct coil spring rear suspension chassis. The kit chassis is only accurate for 66-70 Toros -
Mix all my own colors. If it is going to be a custom I just decide what look I’m going for and throw colors together till I get it right. Helps I’m auto painter by trade. Factory colors I mix by code. I forgot to mention the aluminum injector stacks. I also added armrests from the GSX kit. I just realized I need to take some New pictures cause a few things weren’t done yet when I took these. Thanks for the compliments guys.

An old AMT annual. Lowered as low as I can get it. Had to tub the FRONT wheel wells!! AMT 69 Riviera engine, the one in the kit was horrible. Valve covers from Revell Monogram GSX. Pegasus wheels tires and 4 wheel disk brakes. Custom mixed brown paint and interior color. GSX steering wheel and shifter. Aluminum tube exhaust tips. Still need to black wash the grille and add taillights and mirrors

That is a fair idea. I guess my point is at what point have you made a new model out of it . Just as the caster that made an AMT 69 Chevelle into a 68 for instance. Amt did all the heavy lifting there didn’t they? There seems to be a hypothetical line drawn that varies according to the origins of the model that was started with . Again I agree with not copying someone’s work verbatim but something like a year change and major reshaping seem a different story to me -

So if someone took so and so’s 64 whatever it is and reshaped the sides and made new bumpers to turn it in to a 65 whatever it is would be wrong? Why then isn’t it wrong to turn say AMT’s 64 whatever into a 65 whatever ? If it is considered a theft of design shouldn’t that apply to anyone that hasn’t started a resin from scratch? -

If I was to take a resin body that was modified from a production kit. And modify it more by changing the year of the car and correcting flaws in the original resin casting would it be considered recasting? I mean if I redid a lot of stuff and made it something it wasn’t before i.e. different year car reshape parts that were miss shapened etc. I feel if you heavily modify a casting to make something new it’s no different then what the original caster did to a production kit. Dead copying someone’s casting is a different story. Opinions?
