USPS parcel post SUCKS!!!!
Dragon7665 replied to truckman1958kits's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah it really depends on the Location it started from, and where it went through.... I mean I have shipped stuff the USPS, and I usually can get Faster & Cheaper Service with using them..... Generally I do prefer to Ship Priority Mail, but some of the Larger Items they have me ship them with Parcel Post.... Either way I have seldomly had a problem with things sent both ways Parcel Post, usually just wind up with more of a Delay(Upwards of a week or two)..... Also as suggested ask for Insurance and a Tracking number to help! The Crappest Service that I have ever had with Shipping a Package, is with a Whoops Store, as they gouged me for almost 3x's the Shipping Cost Twice(didn't know it was that much, till the guy I was shipping to let me know.. Did it again a second time, cause it was a Holiday Emergency)! Won't ever stop at one of those Stores Again, but will Happliy drive the Extra Miles to go to a Hub Location(Can usually ship items for Half the price of USPS, but the Hub locations are usually 10-30miles from me, and open only at set times/hours)..... I've had some of my Best Shipping Store expirences at the Local Fred-X Kinko's,Reasonably Priced and Friendly Staff.... Although I think I may have gotten charged more the last time, but after all of the running around I did trying to get the package sent, really didn't mond since the person was friendly enough(She went out of her way to get my package onto the truck that had just arrived, even though my Package hadn't been processed in the back, and was supposed to go out the next morning... She understood how Urgently I need to get my Wife's Glasses and Etc. to her, that she processed my package herself, along with handing it to the driver with Urgent Care & Delivery Orders)..... Sorry to hear how much the guy gouged you for the Cheapest Shipping, I have had that more than enough times since I first got my Ebey Account... The Most irritating was actually a Seller that was Local to me, I won a '62 F-85 for like $15, and he tried to charge me $25 to ship it Parcel Post 5 miles!!! Before I won the car, at the bottom of the Page he stated that he had a Local Hobby Shop(address wasn't listed), and Welcomed Buyers to visit him sometime, so I told him that I wanted to come and pick up the Cutlass, but he refused to let me do so! He went as far as to threaten me with reporting me to Ebay for not paying, and I reminded him that I had offered to pay and pick it like is AD stated..... Wound up paying him $15 plus $5 for Priority, and My Cutty came in a day later, but I think he may have nabbed the motor since he was mad(Don't care, it's a clean little display model, till I find a replacement motor of unknown Origin/Power)..... -
don't you just hate it when.....
Dragon7665 replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
HA Right there with ya Zoom Zoom! I can never wait to do that when I get a Promo, ofcourse I just don't currently have a work space or supplies to do so! I picked up a clean '62 Falcon a few months back, and as soon as I got it, OOPS it came apart on me Guess I shouldn't have take the screws out, or pried on the interior.... Yeah whats the Plan Gasman??? -
Great Looking ME! I have always liked their quirkiness like an Isetta and such, now if only they had one my size Nah Think Busa like this SMART : Someone care to buckle my Straitjacket???

Preffered Parking
Dragon7665 replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Funny I was going through Auto Collision Repair Cert Training when the First Honda EV's(They had to be Plugged in nightly btw, along other EV Test Mules at the time!) were introduced, and #1 was actually a Reality at the time..... Quite a few of the Local Fire Fighters were worried that they could get electrocuted if they had to cut someone out of one..... Number 2 is mis-worded, New Replacement Batteries will cost $5,000 a piece for Toyota Prius Replacements(Toyota was Quoted as saying that they were only meant to have a 5yr lifespan, give or take), but there are more than just one! Other Hybrid Replacement cost will depend on the Car..... A Hybrid Battery is no different than any other Battery, so it can or will explode given the right circumstances(Yes the Right type of Impact to the Car can make this happen).... Yes they can seriously Injury you when it happens, and Personally I wouldn't want any type of Acid to come into contact with me..... BTW, I Know afew FireFighters Locally, In Seattle,South Seattle, and Etc that still will refuse to cut anyone out of a Hybrid within reason -
Preffered Parking
Dragon7665 replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I take it your State doesn't offer perks for owning a Hybrid??? Cali gives Hybrid owners a sticker for their Rear Windows that allows a Single driver to use the HOV Bus/2 or More Passenger Carpool Lane.... My Great State of Washington has been looking into doing that as well, while me(Sorry I don't have the option to Carpool & our Great OverPriced Transit System is far from reliable, especially with my schedule! Besides I spent a good 18yrs doing the Green Thing, now it's my turn ) and other single driver commuters will see a fine like this if we try to use it- 1st time offense $1068.50,-2nd offense fine is doubled,-3rd it is tripled,-4th your license is suspended for a year! (they don't play around!) -
Nah it looks like it is a Baggr, which goes with the Pro-Touring theme nicely! That's my Buck Fifty, and you'll still come up short for a Micky D's Cup of Joe

Wow Fantastic Job Very Klean! I too like the other colors, but I do think your Star likes the Subtle is more approach!

Muffler Bearing?
Dragon7665 replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey I recommend this place for all of your Hard to find Automotive needs! They Have trouble Keeping their High Performance Blinker Fluid in stock, cause it works so well! I know of many Police Agencies that use this in their Cruisers, and the Big B in Seattle has been talking with them, to get some approved by the FAA for the Next Generation of Jumbos! http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=...p;products_id=6 -
Great Looking Aero Mach No Eco-Tech for sure, the Original AeroTechs were Pre-Eco Series, and built with A.J. Foyt Indy Raced Turbo Quad4's Those Suckers were Potent Little 4 Bangers, even in their Non-Race forms!

Fantastic Job! Great Looking T-Bolt Fairlanes and Falcons have always been my Favorite Oval, Next to Komfy Galaxies & LTDs I have always liked them more than I liked T-birds and Mustangs(Except '67 Musty FB, and Hoover 4dr Birds)...

Looking for resin tractor grill
Dragon7665 replied to hippie6's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Yes Very True Biscuit, but AMT/Ertl did offer a few Plastic 1/25 Scale Tractor/Farming Equiptment in the Late '70's/Early '80's, and I want to say were reissued in the Late '80's/Early-Mid '90's.... The First Problem is that they are hard to come by and Expensive, but they also don't have anything nearly descent looking to add to a Primer Rod(I know I have tried to find them, and the kits I have seen just don't look right!)... I have also found a few Foreign 1/25th scale tin toy tractors, but you would have to trash the rest of it to get the grille, modify it to look right, and they typically go for $65-150 -
Hmmm Did not know that until you pointed it out and I Googled it Lord! Most of the Kissel's I have seen at a few Shows/Museums over the years, always had their Golf Bags at the front of each rear fender, so I just thought the little doors on the Bodies were for Club Storage, just like they were on the Auburn BoatTails... Definately Kool and Krazy I loved riding around in an Old Rumble Seat when I was little, but I don't think I'd ever have a pair Bigg enough to ride one of those "Jumpers", atleast not for too long of a distance!
-
You sure Lord??? Looks like the 1919 Paige 6-66 Daytona Speedster Prototype to me The weird thing is that it had Folding "Jumper" Style seats behind each door, that slid out for a Passenger, and the forward portion of the running boards popped up for to make a footrest/support stop(Man how crazy would it have been riding on either side, especially when seatbelts weren't even a Thought of Designers yet!)

Ooooo Abba Zabba She and Mark are the main reasons why I really enjoy the show(Ofcourse the way all of the Cast work off each other helps alot!)..... I'm sure Evil has a slight idea of what kind of woman enjoys a Good Ol' ride in a Final Carriage, I mean he does have Dita Von Teese as his Avitar.... She's today's Betty Page, and she was Marilyn Mason's Squeeze for a while.... Evil, Great Looking Ride you got there! Very Jealous! B) I've wanted one so bad for many years, just haven't had the money or have been able to decide which year My Wife has a bit of a Morbid Side, but she wouldn't set foot in one unless it was new.... I know my Father would approve, as he at one time had a Green '61/62 Pontiac(Here Green was actually more common than the darker colors), and heck my Father In Law has pointed out a few that he thinks I would "Fit" in A few years ago I had come across the first to me Red Neck Hearse that I wished had followed me home( Green '66 Pontiac that was sitting on a Jacked Up with Mudders '80's Extended S-10 frame), as much as I liked it, I could's see giving up $7,000 for such a basket case(Price was Firm, and it needed serious work and rewiring)....

Holy Hell This is COOL!!!!!
Dragon7665 replied to Joe Handley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I read about the same material, found it to be quite interesting, and can wait till there is some available to play with..... Got to ask though, am I the only one who sees adding a heat source anywhere near a fuel fill location as being a bit of an Oxymoron??? I mean what happens when the Busy Soccer Mom had forgot to replace the Gas Cap at the Last Fuel Stop, and then adds Heat to the Fuel Vapors lingering around the filler??? :( -
You're Right Florian, he was a Good Guy back in the early days, and he was more than happy to shoot the breeze with a fan..... Ofcourse as they say, With Money and Fame Comes Greed that bug had bit him hard, and he just let it consume him.... Jo was the only one that kept him halfway stable, and when she wasn't around, you did not want to be anywhere near him.....
-
Jo's a Pretty Smart Automotive Cookie in her own right, it is best for her to Close up shop now, and Move it to the new location..... I wouldn't doubt that she doesn't get some people to run the Shop for her, and then rename it something like JC's Garage to get it away from the stigmata n other ###### that Ol' Foyd left behind.... Maybe then she will actually get the Garage back to building True Hot Rods, and not the Lame Cookie Cutter Garbage that it has put out in the last revamp.... Honestly I wouldn't Blame her if she Closed the Doors permately, and just took what money she could, it's not like she didn't earn it by putting up with Foyd for as long as she did.....

Jeebus Christmas! Talk about some Serious Detailing The Brakes are Works of Art! Man I would Love to be as Detailed as you,Mr O, or any of the Great Builders on here, but I can get Severely OCD'd for certain things, and it would be my luck that I wouldn't be able to catch my build
-
They Have for Years, but have cut back to only Specialty Colors http://www.krylon.com/products/categories/metallics/ Plastikote or Duplicolor is actually Easier to Use IMHO(And they come in Varieties, along with OEM's).....
-
Here you go Eddie, just look for a can of this Found here, and other well stocked hobby and craft shops.... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti00...&I=TESR2949 It's a Transparent Smoke Clear.... Tamiya also has had a line of transparencies for years, they actually come in a variety of colors..... Just like a regular color, you want to start with a light mist, and then just gradually apply it for the desired darkness....

MINIDREAMS 62 FALCON TWISTED OUT PROMO !
Dragon7665 replied to David@MinidreamsInc.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
You are correct Sir, but whenever I have ever brought up an Integral to anybody outside of a True Oval Fan, or Hard Core Automotive Guy/Gal, they usually look like these guys ---> Yet when I say 1960's Ford Unibody Pickup, then they are more respondant Looks like you have some Great Yard Toys though Richard Seeing that pic already gives me ideas of what I'd do to them, if they were in my Yard
