  1. Incredible, when I saw that tiny piece of brass on your fingertip I said..hes not... and then, yep frost plugs. Really enjoying watching your progress Francis...amazing work
  2. It's not that bad a kit, really...just needs alot of touching..I pretend I'm building a Pocher kit...lol Decided to replace this 2" thick spoiler with some sheet aluminium Drilled out the lower rail and installed Detail Master bolts Better More soon I hope
  3. What Bob said...likin' the looks of that pistol grip Mark, and the lid on the paint cup is boss ! I don't know if you had found this yet or not...it popped up on my news feed...probably said Monte Carlo a few too many times working on Donnie's... https://motorsportsmarket.com/racecars/1971-chevy-monte-carlo-nascar-grand-national-stock-car/ I know it's a refurbished car, but there are original details in there. Looks like your about to start painting...I always leave the painting until I nail the stance. Cheers
  4. I'm in..should be a fun watch Joe,..I haven't built a tank in ohhh .....50 some odd years.... can't go wrong with a Tamiya tho Cheers
  5. Thanks guys I used Tamiya clear blue, red, orange and yellow individually, thru the air brush... wish I would have brought the blue down a bit more, but oh well...Oh and guess what colour you get if you mix Tamiya clear red and blue together..? that's right BLACK....lol Cheers
  6. Nice ! I like the blue !
  7. We are our own worst critics...I think it came out GREAT! Love the interior shot.
  8. You've been a busy guy Jim..those both look great !
  9. Really well done Jim..and I hear you on the Salvinos kits being on a steep learning curve. I'm working one of their Monte Carlos right now, and it's been a bit of a struggle. You did a great job on this one, decals and finish look fantastic!
  10. Well I gathered up all my courage and got the body stretched over the chassis without popping the glass...whew And, of course the air cleaner sits too high...so more surgery Bumpers fit just fine Q. C. + C.s welcome Later
  11. Very nice Pierre !...Like Chuck said ^^ the salt flat pics are an awesome background to your build. Hard to say it's a nice clean build with all the rust, but..it is !! Well done (2thumsup)
  12. Liking the idea of the blues (2 thumsup)
  13. Cool My Dad had one of those back in '84..little go box, until winter showed up..the starter was the lowest component on the engine...Ontario winters...No For Christmas I got him Ontario vanity plates... COY TOY Remember that cramped interior too...might want to dullcoat that.. Nicely done...thanks for the memories
  14. Added seat belts (masking tape slices black sharpied and dullcoated with Liquitex matte medium), 4mm tube distributor, ignition wires (too big,...all I had), fan shroud and intake metal bent up out of some .040 aluinium sheet..added a rad puke tank. ..After Futuring the front 'glass',..I ground off the lower edge of the front windshield, to be flat with bottom of the cowl .. and BMF'd (non sticky variety..yay) the surround after gluing. Black Sharpied the backs of the 2 (should be 3) windshield crash bars The windshield...didn't fit ..even after filing and sanding the lower edge off...Canopy glue and some weight got it in place...and a day later I drenched it in BSI Instaset kicker, and applied a generous amount of BSI gap filling medium C/A glue..yay no fogging. Brush painted the body interior with CraftSmart Acrylic black. Little disappointed in the BMF application,..brand new sheet and only the middle 2" will stick...GRRRrr... Almost there
  15. See..I learn something new every day... Interior is looking great Pierre (2thumsup)
  16. That's about where I'm at...keeps ya coming back tho....lol
  17. Just spitballin' here, but wouldn't the bumpers be the first weight reduction on a land speed car...?...lol Maybe black to break up the rust effect...
  18. Found a set of those in the AMT Trans Am kit and was able to stuff 'em under the Revell '70 Challenger...Love those rims...
  19. Thanks Pierre.. disappointing to say the least ... Thanks Mark..me too So anyway, the idea of getting this into 'Under Glass' in a timely manner has gone by the wayside...still much to do These sink marks were unacceptable So made up some covers and continued it on up the rear sheet Cut down the oversized fire extinguisher and added some detail More to come as it happens...Q.C.+C.s welcome...
  20. Better late than never. It's looking good..always loved the trans am series.
