Just finished my first trade with Kit Basher a.k.a. Hugh Grubb. Great trade!! Great guy to trade with!! would trade with again.
-
Thanks for the Great trade Ken!! I think Edsels get a bad rap, so i'm gonna give this one some TLC!!

Another "Alias" to watch for.....
-
Yeah. Its a shame that a bad experience with one (or more) bad resin casters makes people gun shy to deal with ANY of them. I'm in that camp. There are some GREAT casters out there who produce a beautiful product at fair prices, and I wish them nothing but the best, but after having to get "legal" with this last joker, speaking for myself, I'm done.

Just saying the name of the company provokes a VIOLENT verbal response from his unsatisfied customers.(victims). Its a quite natural response. Some threads dealing with this guy would look like one long string of cuss words if the Moderators didn't PG the content. Nothing personal.
-
Yep!! Been there myself when talking about this subject.

The guy definitely leads a charmed life, that's for certain. After as many people as he's ripped off, and STILL in business..... All we can do as hobby fans is spread the word and try to warn people about this guy and his ripoff scheme. Like some unlucky people on the forum, I can relate to being taken by this clown, but for a lot less money that some. If we discuss "He who should not be named" too much, the thread will get locked. They allowed me to post pic's of this guys worthless junk to show people just what garbage he was peddling, but they took it down just as quickly too. I guess I was lucky to have received ANYTHING, but what I got was so badly warped as to be worthless junk. It went straight into the trash can after some pictures were posted.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. I saw a body I liked, I ordered it, and the nightmare began. I DID threaten legal action, and got my stuff, which was still useless junk. I would have been MUCH further ahead if I had done my homework and researched him on this and other forums, and saved myself ALOT of grief... And you are correct. Live and learn!! But your definitely not alone in getting ripped off by this clown.

Finally got my hands on the Meng F-350 kit and some better aftermarket tires. I got it for WAY below retail, so i bought some extra goodies for it as well.

I had an experience with resin caster of less than stellar repute not too long ago. I went with the nuclear option from the get go and got a lawyer involved. It seams like a strong response to a minor problem, but this particular person had a reputation of ripping people off, and i WASN"T going to be just another one of his victims. You would be surprised at how fast things move when the other party receives a strongly worded legal document via a sheriffs deputy. And the key is not to bluff. if the person involved keeps giving you the run around, drop the hammer!!

Nice save!! Always liked that kit.

Looks great even in that tiny scale. Love the mini's!!

Thats very true for you guys further north. You guys are normally getting POUNDED by snow and ice by this time of year. Maybe this warm weather is a gift for Christmas. A break from the weather!!

They posted a page on the restoration awhile back. I was GLUED to my computer!! They went through every nut and bolt of that tank. It looks factory fresh. A lot of the tanks at Aberdeen were showing pronounced torsion bar fatigue from sitting for so many years with no care. I hope they get better treatment at Ft. Knox.

I was surprised to see that the Germans hadn't sabotaged the main gun before they abandoned it. SOP was to drain the hydraulic recoil cylinders and fire a H/E- A/P round, thus jamming the main gun out of battery permanently. I thought the Tunis Tiger was at the Bovington tank museum in the U.K. Was it the one with the miss matched driver/gunners hatches? I don't think that there was a real push to apply zimmerit to AFV's till around '42 or so. The Russians started getting smarter about fighting tanks like the Tiger, that were too often expected to take and hold ground without infantry support. They formed tank hunter/killer squads that used magnetic satchel charges to disable or destroy unprotected tanks.

That is a STUNNING build. Words can't do it justice. Wow..... -
I remember being stationed at Ft. Aberdeen and going to the tank museum. I crawled all over that Tiger 1, but I don't recall any zimmerit on it at that time. It took one heck of a pounding to get it to stop. There were shell gouges all over the turret mantlet and front glacious plate. The zimmerit is one of my biggest hang ups trying to build accurate German Armor. Mk4's are pretty easy, but Panthers and tigers are a whole other ball game.

I figured. I never said you COULDN'T have bad days, regardless of your work status...... You have more time to watch the circus that is the work a day world. The major difference being you did your bit. Your free. well maybe from the 9-5 part anyway.
