Thanks for the photos. I’m glad James pointed this out. Here’s the evidently much more common 122” bbc, and the noticeable difference with how the hood is flush up against the door, lacking the extended cowl and upper lip on the hood. Interesting info, otherwise overlooked. Just another reason why this forum is so useful. Thanks guys!

I agree, now I’m not going to be able to unsee the differences either. It seems that the updated 2011 Prostar+ version with a 125” bbc and 15L MF did make it into production, but the actual number of trucks that rolled off the assembly line as a “+” model with a 15L may have been really small. Otherwise, I may look into modifying the kit into a 122” bbc whenever I get around to building it. I’ll look up some more info, including trying to see if any of them are up for sale on Truckpaper - a good source of real life truck info, as you can search by make, model, engine, etc.

Really interesting information, much of which I wasn’t aware. I missed the fact of the longer cowl/hood vs. the production model. Great info. I was under the impression that both Moebius Internationals were tooled with the Maxxforce 15, not the 13. But, is that incorrect? I’ve read that the 1:1 Maxxforce 15 never made it into the production Lonestar due to cooling issues with the radiator design, and it didn’t last very long in production in other trucks like the Prostar, due to other numerous issues. But, I thought they had mild success with the 13L version, thus I’d actually prefer if Moebius had used the 13L engine in their kits.

LNT8000 feed truck

Absolutely excellent all the way around! -
Thanks Joel, for your honesty, great approach to what you offer, and positive outlook. We don’t always see that with aftermarket vendors. I appreciate your contribution to the hobby. I have enjoyed your items. You’re right about what a huge leap 3d printing has taken recently, I can’t wait to see what the future brings.

Thanks for the photos! An unpainted metal kit, eh? Interesting.
-
Well, not surprising no one seems to have any firsthand knowledge of the kit. Seems pretty obscure. Questionable proportions on the box art image, odd wheels, and it’s a metal kit. I’m usually pretty savvy at searching online for info, and I’ve come up short with this one. Probably for the best. If it were worth getting, it wouldn’t have been forgotten, right?

Duel Peterbilt 281 & Tanker
vincen47 replied to spencer1984's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
This has to be the definitive model of the Duel truck. Incredible. Knowing your level of expertise and commitment to the wheeled stars of the big screen, I have no doubt the build was meticulously researched and carried out. Museum quality! -
ERTL International 4300 Eagle

That’ll be a worthwhile restoration. It’s an impressive build, especially with the hand-painted livery. Incredible artwork. -
I didn’t know this one existed, at least at one time. Anyone have any info on it? Judging by the box art, I’m guessing it wasn’t one of Ertl’s best.

Glad to see it back. Missed out last time, thinking it would be around longer. Of course, I’d be happier if it was the Can/Will Do, but beggars can’t be choosers, right?

A&N Volvo engine D13. Scale 1/24

That’s fine with me, I’ll take one of those. They made the first gen in resin a while back, and it’s hard to find. I’d prefer one of those, but I’d be pleased with the second gen Argosy as well. That 3d model looks a bit off in the grille area, though it’s the newest design, the center lower drop is wider. Maybe it’s the angle of the photo making it look too narrow. Anyway, I read somewhere that Freightliner has dropped the Argosy, it’s last production year being 2020. That’s too bad, for it was more or less the only class 8 cabover still produced for the North American market, though it was still rare to see one on the road. For the past decade and a half it had only been available in North America as a glider. -

Perhaps A&N will be releasing a late model Volvo for the North American market? -

Wonderful! That’s great news. I had planned to put an engine in my VNL 780. I’ve been stalking the FH4 kit to rob it of it’s D13. I hadn’t grabbed it yet because the kit price was pretty high. Not that this one will be cheap, but A&N’s quality and accuracy is worth it. Thanks so much for posting this! -
Beautiful! A nice save and upgrade.

Peterbilt and pneumatic trailer

Super. Awesome. Another spectacular build, and another one of those “Man, I wish they made a kit of that” type of builds. Did the trailer start with a Keystone tank? -
Freightliner FLC Photo etch Grill
vincen47 replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Peterbilt. I got all excited, but didn’t take them out of the plastic to look at the back until you asked. I suppose not all is lost, there are two grilles in the bag, I could use the Peterbilt style with a White Freightliner and get the two bump for a later model FLC, or I think I could reshape them. Depends on price and availability, I guess. -
Freightliner FLC Photo etch Grill
vincen47 replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Good news, my photo etch arrived today and it came with the headlight buckets! I don’t need to place another separate order just to get them. They were not in the photos when I ordered them from ST Supply on EBay. This is excellent, now I have all I need. I don’t mind altering the fenders myself, so no need for me to get the hood or the full set. -

New Pop Up Ads

Yep. I just made a topic post about this in the “How to Use this board” area. I understand people need to make money, but that’s annoying. Thought pop up ads were extinct. They should be.
