I thoroughly enjoyed the walkthrough. I’m glad you posted them. -
Well, there you have it. Wow. Didn't have that on my 2020-2021 bingo card. Awesome!

Wow, you should send these photos to A&N, I’m sure they’d love to see their kit built up so beautifully. -

This is really looking awesome. The finished product is amazing, I just looked at it over in the under glass section. For anyone looking to build this kit, this thread will be excellent reference material and inspiration for years to come. -

Excellent! Your weathering is superb. This is a perfect example of the ordinary, mundane, and otherwise unnoticed equipment in our world that makes for an extraordinary, unique, and intriguing build. Thanks for posting! -
The cab visor is from Double Take Replicas. He’s not casting at this time, but modeltruckbuilder.com has a nice one in the store. The bug deflector was borrowed from an older issue Italeri Peterbilt 378 kit. I’m not sure if the newer issues have it. It’s not a perfect fit, but in the spirit of an older truck with a lot of hand-me-down parts, it is if the owner got it off of a junk 378, and made it work on his 359.

That’s a great scene, not to mention one done with very little special effects, just good old film. With the chase set to the 80’s music of the time, and in the Motor City - definitely worth watching. I’ve considered building thar rig as a future project myself, especially since CTM came out with the grille. I did a little research a while back and I remember there’s a swamp box-looking thing out the rear of the cab, used to house a camera, maybe even the whole camera man, iirc. Also, for car-ramming purposes, there is a big I-beam behind the bumper, making the factory bumper stick out. But yes, it would be a fairly easy project with mostly off-the-shelf components. I’d love to see someone jump on a project like this. -

All New Tool big rig from AMT !!!!!
vincen47 replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Ahh, now that’s a possibility. I could see a sci-fi guy saying how “awesome” a project is if it was something like that. The licensing would be costly, but I think it would sell. There are multiple generations/versions of Optimus Prime that would be cool, but I’d think the Western Star would be the most likely candidate. Some, like myself, would build it stock, without the movie modifications. I’d like to hope it was the Transtar 4070A or 4070B returning. But, I can’t imagine a sci-fi guy getting excited about that, even if he’s paid to be “excited” when making the videos. He seemed genuinely interested when discussing what he thought of the development, but maybe I’m reading too far into it. -
True, probably pretty expensive. I guess most people are happy with the more common “off the shelf” factory-made dually.
-
Looks good. I like the trailer a lot. I often see guys with dually trucks hauling a few cars at a time with similar trailers. Always wondered why those F650 trucks were not more common, both as models and the real thing. Seems like they’d be more popular. At least, I don’t recall seeing them on the road much.
-
That’s great. I too, when I read the thread title, immediately thought this had to be his Trans Am. It’s perfect. I can see Dwight stumbling and falling against the rear window with a concussion. Of course, it would be missing the front bumper in that scene.

All New Tool big rig from AMT !!!!!
vincen47 replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I watched it again, and like Casey posted above, he doesn’t necessarily say that it’s a “new” kit, or new tooling. It might be implied, by saying it’s a “big rig development in the works”. I’m trying not to get my hopes up about something completely new - but it’s exciting regardless of it being new or a highly anticipated reissue with new parts and updated tooling. I will be happy either way, I’m sure. -
Much improved!

All New Tool big rig from AMT !!!!!
vincen47 replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
“All new” and “big rig” in the same sentence. That sure has us all wondering. -
If it takes Coke decals in order to bring this sought-after kit out again, no big deal. Looking at the box art, minus the coke logos, not a bad paint scheme either! I’d happily welcome a Coke Transtar II, bring it on, if that’s what it takes.

That’s one mean looking truck. Great weathering and detail. Nice choice in aftermarket tires. -
Very true, the time machine could only travel through time, not space and time. In other parts of the movie trilogy they have holes like this, such as when Doc says he’d probably be burned at the stake as a heretic if he landed in the dark ages. Probably true, but not in the Hill Valley area, in the dark ages. But, running into a tree from long ago was a legitimate concern. Still love those movies!
