It's a great Landie! -
Wheel decals applied & coated with matt clear. chassis complete, just waiting for the body shelll the exhaust (tail pipe) was curiously missing from the kit, but replaced with a bit of aluminium tube... today, touched up the body shell, will be clear coating this week with a tail wind...!
-
2 step masking process to get the body painted. i'm going to clear coat before and after decals, so I am worried about the multiple coats of paint getting too thick. a few coats of zero grey primer, zero "gloss" white, then masked for blue with Tamiya acrylics, and masked again for tamiya acrylic black. A bit of bleed, but there are decals to go over, I'm going to try to lightly sand the colour out.

Loving the mods, in fact the entire thread is interesting, keep it coming, it's looking amazing!

Great build so far, you are right about the engine, it's got good detail, body looks excellent without polish...

Amazing work so far! Thanks for sharing! -
funky paint work! the princess seems impressed...
-
its a fantastic build, and the paint really pops, thanks also for your instructions on painting the body shell!

its a great looking build! I did find some of your lessons learnt familiar, although the glue on the decal made me LOL - shouldn't really, as it probably annoyed you at the time. one of the calipers seems in the wrong orientation, but those wheels look great sprayed. I've never seen a kit clear coated with X22, I thought that was a mixer for making flat base paint clear...! I live and learn as it looks good as a clear coat.

And this is where I am now, using the chassis as a jig to glue the roll cage together, it'll get removed for the seats to go in...

All bits excluding the body shell, in this pic, only the wheels and wheel backs have been assembled. So far so good with the new AB, its VERY differrent to the last one.

My Iawata AB was glaying up just as I was about to coat my Tamiya Testarossa, so I bought a new AB and wanted to build this kit to get used it it before I return to the Ferrari. This kit, esp. at this scale is all about the exterior. I've de-sprued, cleaned up, washed, primed (zero grey) and used a range of Zero Lacquer and Tamiya Acrylic thus far. Its a relatively well detailed kit considering its size, but I'm not going to put any extra details in, you won't see them!

That's a great looking shark nose beemer, Ido like the wheels, they suit it!

The lincoln is just a georgeous car, love your slammed version!
-
Beautiful finish, you'd never know thay were hand painted stripes. look much better than the translucent kit decals in my experience...

You are right, that is a big engine! Looking great so far -
Looks le a great kit, fantastic start!
-
A bit of artistic intepretation, i've put in some steel indicator stalks Added some seat belts & buckles only the scratch built door cards to go, then back onto the body!
-
I've scratch built some pedals, the kit didn't come with any. you probably wont be able to see them in the built car. but at least I know they are there...
