  1. A stunner - just what Monogram should have done.
  2. Excellent work, Paul - how about describing your modifications on the body? (Bill, let's hear your ideas too - you and Paul could maybe compare notes?)
  3. That's a great tip, Steven - especially with moldings that have been a bit buried under the paint. I've been dreading doing the side trim on my '64 Caddy, but this may save me. Thanks!
  4. 3) You are correct sir! 4)They look like Hurst mags; retooled for the '66 Merc?
  5. And away we go: Note the Ridge Runner has no mention of "Ford" or "Pinto", like the House on the Hill has no mention of "Psycho". (Mother's not gonna like that... )
  6. David, it turns out I may do nothing with it - PM me. Thanks to Bob Deneen of the LMMCC, today I got a set of Olds Fiestas (probably the custom ones from the '58 T-bird), a couple custom parts trees from the Revell '62 Valiant (nice tri-bar knockoffs, lots of chrome bullets and some SoCal-area car club plaques) ...AND a set of stock 1/32 '56 Chrysler wheelcovers and grille, just in case the eBay one doesn't pan out. Will be casting soon...
  7. I really want that 275 GTB - what model year does it represent? I want to build it as the one that got smashed up in the TV movie Love Hate Love.
  8. Gotcha. Got an idea - how about putting an image of the stock '66 Skylark on the side of the Modified Stocker box with the caption SORRY.
  9. I spotted this in the new truck kits thread and zoomed in; take a close look: Sorry if this has been mentioned before. There certainly could be some interesting decal possibilities for new issues.
  10. I got me a Chrysler, it looks a bit crummy But, at least, it didn't cost too much money! For years I've said someone should make resin copies of the stock wheelcovers and grille for this kit, so you can build the reissued one as a stocker. Well, if you want something done, you gotta do it yourself...
  11. Bondic has one quirk: it will pull away from the mold as it hardens unless you use thin layers. Alumilite also makes a UV-cured clear resin; it's a bit more viscous than Bondic but works out way cheaper.
  12. Even if you molded a copy instead of hacking one up, it wouldn't be correct anyway - it goes all the way across the rear with no license plate opening and the taillights are in the wrong place.. The resin kit isn't correct either - the taillights are too close together (correct for a wagon or El Camino but not for a Bel Air).
  13. You mean this one? It hit a Mopar, not a tree, but it's the only match on IMCDb. The worst part of the show to me is the incessant disco soundtrack - if I wanna dance I'll do it at the club, not in front of my TV set.
  14. Cluttered? (Crocodile Dundee voice) That ain't cluttered, mate. This is cluttered. Seriously, that's a great job - gives me something to shoot for, especially the paint racks.
  15. I bet that '71 LeSabre hit something more substantial than a Europa before the TV crew borrowed it from the junkyard! Fake license plate - I don't think the CA DMV would have issued that letter combination
  16. Cool! Gregg, how about a build thread on that one?
  17. You guys should have wished me more luck! It arrived yesterday and I set it up to find the threads on the round table were stripped out where it screws onto the valve, so while it pulled some vacuum, it wasn't enough to pop bubbles. "Tested" my azz... So, lacking a Helicoil, I covered the threads and base with silicone, stuck the table on, and we'll see what happens tonight when it's fully cured. Fingers crossed again...
  18. Seat #3 = Custom buckets from the '68 Torino. Originally came with headrests: (From current eBay auction - seller vintagemodelcarparts)
  19. ^^^ Every Palmer kit I ever built (except the '40 Ford sedan).
  20. The page is gone from the auction site but here's a saved copy of the main list, at least: https://web.archive.org/web/20190119193511/https://www.interencheres.com/vehicules/vente-de-voitures-de-collection-243124/
  21. "Excellerator"? I guess if you have an excellent run...
  22. Direct upload in case the Photobucket image disappears after a couple seconds: (Anyone else have that problem?)
  23. Bill, I took a look at an old builtup '36 I have plus a couple wheels from a junk chassis, and I found one wheel that had all the little holes properly molded. The outer rim has tire melt but I think I can cut out the center and combine it with a good rim to make a master. I have it in the purple pond right now to get the paint off; let's see what I can do with it.
  24. On the other hand, I can think of some childhood builds that go for a pretty penny now - and my feelings are "been there, done that". The '65 AWB Malibu, "Unreal" Edsel, and even the MPC '67 Bonneville (Detailing Paint and Brush Included!) just don't excite me like when I was a kid. I would be very happy to get another black Craftsman '59 Continental, however
