  1. And here they are: Cool stuff - thanks Rex!
  2. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! (Image via Gary Reynolds on the H.A.M.B.)
  3. Very very sharp, John!
  4. Some gems from Jeff Kruse in MAD Magazine (excerpt from "Jalopy Shopper", issue #382, June 1999):
  5. Those of us that have to section up multiple gluebombs to make complete models can commiserate.
  6. Very glad to see those chrome reverses don't have the front hubcaps molded on! I'll be watching for a set from the usual eBay part vendors...
  7. Can you upload that image directly to the forum? Photobucket is having one of its fits again (or they keep defeating the Chrome addons).
  8. From the December 1963 issue of Esquire, these are Virgil Exner's four original renderings: The article (note these were first supposed to be 1964 model year versions, plus they were credited to both Virgil Exner Senior and Junior):
  9. Yes, the Chevy was white with a red interior and today would be considered a viable project if you found it in a junkyard.
  10. I'm forwarding this thread to a friend on the board who has had a lot of success casting clear red resin taillights; hopefully he'll chime in with advice (he did the tail and backup lights for my '65 Nova and '65 Belvedere projects).
  11. I'm so sorry to see this, Brian - hope the holidays will give you some respite. You don't mention unbuilt kits - did you have any stored elsewhere?
  12. First one I built was when I was 7 back in '67; it was the '65 Chevelle funny car brush-painted black. I used the shock absorbers to decorate the grille... Also tackled the "Unreal" Edsel funny car not long after.
  13. OK, I'll play. Here's a batch from my personal collection, taken by me and my dad around Glenview in the early '70s: My brothers and me. I still have that Plymouth's wheelcover, and the speedometer from the '61 Mercury... These were given to me by a classmate in junior high; she said she got them from this "weird guy" neighbor of hers - again, Chicago/Glenview area: I shot this '53 Stude in Paducah, KY in '75: And finally, this was at my high school a few years before I attended:
  14. Some guys with '61-'63 Continentals have swapped from 14" to 15" wheels with '64-up wheel covers due to the difficulty of finding the wide 14" tires; I did some junkyard scrounging for wheels/covers for a friend's '63 so he could keep it on the road.
  15. I'm not thrilled with that either, but for the constant use I'll be getting from them I just figured it into the price of the tool.
  16. Took one look at those saws and ordered a set! (BTW they're $11.00 + $7.00 postage from Scale Motorsport - didn't see 'em listed on eBay or Amazon.)
  17. Man, if this guy ever does a '57 Century hardtop... I'll wait for a complete kit rather than a test shot, however.
  18. Rex, if you can't do it, I can - my scanner has an adapter. PM me if you find the slides.
  19. Have any resin outfits done a panel truck conversion for the '40, using the Monogram pickup as a donor?
  20. Heads up! I just checked the Modelhaus site and it looks like they still have some promo wheels for the '66 Caddy; grab 'em while you can! They're all you need to bring this back to stock on the exterior. One other thing: I built their '65 Impala back in the '80s and those whitewall inserts started melting in the tires very quickly; you may want to copy them in resin.
  21. Once again, here's an upgrade on the plates for you - correct font, stickers on rear only, and they can be used for the Death Proof Charger as well:
  22. Renault Fuego? VW 411/412? Someone tell Faust about those! The '39 Pontiac sounds interesting, too - guess it's based on the Monogram '39 Chevy?
  23. Great photos! Did the powered pogo stick come with a free ambulance ride?
