  1. Sweet job on car, boat and trailer, Paul! Did you do anything special to the boat's engine? For the movie car buffs among us, note the license number JST 791 on the DeSoto - I got that from Vincent Price's '56 Chevy wagon in The Last Man on Earth, and the trailer plate number BK 5937 was on Ray Milland's Kenskill travel trailer in Panic in Year Zero!.
  2. Looking forward to it!
  3. Missing Link used to, but it was discontinued - maybe you could find one on the secondary market.
  4. Maybe an extra from the '61 Buick wagon kit? Note they were both printed two-color red and black: (courtesy Drastic Plastics' Fotki site)
  5. That's a shame. Do you have any photos? Did they keep the square roofline, or was it more of a fastback?
  6. Not bad, if a bit predictable. Did the builder leave the crank windows as a "retro" touch, or do they operate power window controls? If it were a Jay Leno job, it would have 18-inch hand-formed aluminum wheels designed to look like the original wheelcovers. If it were a Chip Foose job, it would have been sliced and diced seventeen different ways to "improve the proportions" and have some sort of sculpted carbon-fiber cover over the engine. Frankly, I'd still love to see an American two-door hardtop or convertible body matched up with the Brazilian front and rear clips. Tulio, has anyone you know completed such a conversion yet?
  7. IIRC, that kit depicts an Amblewagon ambulance with a modified opening for a rear door that opens to the side.
  8. AMT put a very similar two-pot McCulloch setup in their '61 Ford and '62 through '64 full-size Mercurys; the blower unit above looks like the one in the '57 Ford kit.
  9. Hmm. Anyone have a good '67 body and some 2-part putty-type rubber? Someone could mold a copy of the rear area of the quarter panel, send the mold to Keith, and he could put the mold on the body and backfill it with resin. I used that method to fix a broken tailfin on a '61 T-bird.
  10. I've noticed some Lindberg Dodge L-700 kits being parted out on eBay; the engine has been referred to as a "361 V8". Is this the same engine as the 361 that was in the early Sixties Mopar passenger cars, and if so, is the IMC unit an accurate representation? I'd like to see if I can use it for the Revell '62 Chrysler Newport. Thanks for your help!
  11. #2: Jo-Han '63 Olds Starfire. #3: Custom wheelcover from the AMT '64 El Camino. Supposed to look like '61-'62 Plymouth Valiant units, but in real life those were 13-inch, so they aren't really correct. #4: AMT '63 Mercury, both full-size and Meteor.
  12. One other method that's been successful for me a couple times (on kits with molded-in headlights) is to make a mold of the whole bumper/grille with casting rubber. Then I remove the unit from the mold and drill out the lenses. Finally, I put the bumper/grille back into the mold and fill the lens areas with clear UV resin and cure it. Add buckets and done. Best thing is the lenses are a perfect fit every time, plus you can use the method to create clear lenses that don't otherwise exist, like I did on this '64 Caddy rear bumper:
  13. Jo-Han also produced shallow 8-lugs as custom parts for some of its full-sized cars, including the '61 Olds 88: Looks like Trumpeter copied them.
  14. An NOS set of AMT 8-lugs on eBay now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-1962-PONTIAC-BONNEVILLE-ORIGINAL-HUB-CAPS-NOS-KIT-S-622-CIRCA-1962/332811448119?hash=item4d7d1baf37:g:UfoAAOSwq6pboWps
  15. '74 Buick Estate? How long before we get the demo derby version? Wouldn't mind if Greenlight copied this in 1/24.
  16. If we're going for 1/1 regrets, (a) having to sell my '64 Catalina 2+2 convertible (which I only had for four months) because my roommate couldn't come up with rent money, and (b)misplacing all the photos of it except this one:
  17. Yes, it does - they're separate pieces, chromed. Either paint the lenses or recast them in red resin.
  18. Got the happy news this morning that my mags have been shipped.
  19. One more off the want list, or How to guarantee Revell will reissue this kit: '62 Chrysler Newport convertible molded in purple metalflake, pretty near intact - traded a built '61 Falcon to Tom P. for it. At the LMMCC meeting last night I picked up this grungy but useful for experimentation '58 New Yorker promo: I'm going to attempt some straightening on this body by cutting, bending and filling and see how far I get. Wish me luck. Gimme that great big Jo-Han smile!
  20. Just now sent Peter Vetri a message asking about the '62 Chrysler and Plymouth - will post the reply, if any.
  21. If you're looking for wheel covers, try the stock ones from the '66 Nova - they're shaped wrong for the Nova but are near-identical to the Starfire's finned ones:
