  1. Rod Stewart - "Downtown Train" I've done a mash-up of this song and Joe Walsh's "Ebony Eyes" - came out interesting but still needs work.
  2. "Toni" Curtis? Peter "Faulk"? Give the fool who wrote that his just desserts: "You're banished! I'm getting a new typesetter! Banished! Banished! Banished!" By the way, I recall there was more than one Leslie Special built (three IIRC); this one's in the Tupelo Auto Museum:
  3. ^^^ Gremlins. This may be easy:
  4. Chuck Berry - "Back in the USA"
  5. Gary Lewis and the Playboys - "Malibu Run" (from the movie Out of Sight)
  6. They forgot to show the cheese-grater body file used for grinding down the nubs from the sprue.
  7. Had one of these when it was new; even then I thought Barris sure succeeded in making a Mustang look like a '63 Tempest...
  8. Well this is a new one on me! While doing my usual search for '58 Fords on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Ford-1958-Ford-Fairlane-Model-Kit-Made-in-Japan-/221679257703?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item339d1d0867 Anyone recognize the company, and if they made anything else like this? Along the same vein, the same seller has a Messerschmitt; again any info? I'm watching both kits to see if the bids head for Idiotville... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960s-Messerschmitt-TG500-Model-Kit-Made-in-Japan-Complete-/221679251205?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item339d1cef05
  9. Any guesses as to what the blades in the middle and bottom are? They're not on Flex-I-File's website. (Sure hope the middle one is a micro saw.)
  10. I've noticed the tips on the Excel blades don't break off as easily as the X-acto ones do, but YMMV. What I'd really like to see is a knife sharpener that would work for hobby blades - I know, I know, so I'm cheap. There's still a lot of metal left on a blade when it's dull...
  11. Maybe Taylor Webb Used Cars will buy it and name it Jill.
  12. "Dancin' in the sand down on the beach Girls are out of sight, but not out of reach Smell the salty air See bikinis everywhere Girls come every day, you'll find 'em there..." Hint: This band's first seven singles hit the Billboard Top Ten (but this wasn't one of them; it was in a movie soundtrack).
  13. "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" - Melanie
  14. 1. "This Ole House" - Rosemary Clooney 2. "The Free Electric Band" - Albert Hammond
  15. How about the Buddy L Texaco station? Prices for those have hit the stratosphere. Even replicating parts from it could be lucrative - the gas pumps, islands, tire rack, oil cans, rest room sign, grease rack - it all would sell to collectors, plus diorama builders would want those items without having to shell out for the MRC kit.
  16. Bravo! Actually filmed on the not-yet-opened 210 Freeway near Sunland/Tujunga, CA; that area looks nothing like the I-5 near San Juan Capistrano where the movie is set...
  17. Yes, but it's not a Rolls - it's an Austin Princess, the car you rent for a movie when you can't get/can't afford a Rolls Royce. Some have even had R-R grilles fitted.
  18. "Dad, Can I Borrow the Car?" episode of The Wonderful World of Disney.
  19. Close enough - "A Waste of Money" ("Household Finance/took my pants!" ).
  20. ^^^ Gone in 60 Seconds. By the way, I went through some old video tapes and found the KNBC (Los Angeles) news story about the freak accident that killed H.B. Halicki on the set of Gone in 60 Seconds 2, so I posted it on YouTube: I also found the story about the auction of his estate, so I'll post that soon.
  21. Something tells me I better not post any Cat Stevens lyrics, either... so I'll try something else: I wanted to get Some new girlfriends So I went and bought A Mercedes-Benz...
  22. But that's where John Wayne has his best line: "I'm up to my butt in gas!" (insert f@rt sound here...) Also note that in the final chase scene, the '71 Caddy comes to a halt facing the ocean: - then in the rest of the scene it's facing the shore...
  23. Better yet, how about a '73 Monte Carlo? (With the bench seat as an option.)
  24. These were usually made from the remains of clapped-out four-door sedans; guess it's better than making them into couches...
