  1. I like the direction your headed ! I wouldn't have thought about notching the frame , and really like how your making it in the weeds
  2. All those mods really change the overall appearance in a very good way !
  3. This topic reminds me of one circulated on the armor forums awhile back about builders experiencing issues w certain manufacturers plastic. One that jumps out was the green molded Trumpeter kits, very hard and difficult to get glue to adhere. Soon after Panda plastic was very rubbery, almost flexible to a degree. I havent built many older kits, but the few havent really melted using Testors thin or Tamiya extra thin the way gel glue used too..
  4. Lmbo yeah I've been slacking think my squirrels are getting lazy before labor day
  5. Small update , pint size actually ! The reference truck had an unusual air cleaner mounted and I really wanted to capture that detail . Hoping for a donor part yielded nothing and it was suggested to build one..that's my favorite thing to do! Heres the style the 361 has.. Digging thru parts turned up a few parts oddly enough from a Mack..shhh dont tell ! The main body off the R model, another half off another terrible glue bomb I trashed and my friend Evergreen ! I cut the can right inside of the strap , and flipped it around the other side . That left a gap, which was covered w 015 strip. The top section was off the bomb , a small tube riser attaches it . After I added a small pipe to each end that rubber elbows will attach. Later a section of modified rectangular tube will attach the air cleaner to the cab.
  6. Gary wallace at gw trucks has a steerable and non steerable tag axle available KFS also sells them
  7. Wow nice color on the chassis
  8. Thanks everyone ! I really struggled with the color choice , between the red and a dark blue. After a spoon test the blue looked splotchy, certainly it was my application. That 5.0 dropped right in, needing just a small adjustment to the driveshaft length . Figure they blew up the 427 during the test drive like the 442 during the Overhauling show...
  9. Finally got around to posting these under glass . It's the Foose build, the only thing I changed was the engine...that's a 5.0 supercharged Coyote from the Mustang GT Color was Testors Red lacquer w wet look clear This was a seriously fun build that basically built itself, everything fit together fantastic.
  10. Shaping up nicely Tom
  11. Awesome work Really like how your cylinders come together I really tend to screw those up. Do you add a stop inside
  12. Awesome photos ! The Pacitto (sp?) Brockway was at the home coming last yr a stunning truck
  13. Quad cab 5 ton truck how awesome. Appears to be an A2 variant based solely on the rims . The family was hanging around a towns Old Home Days event and car show where this Ford caught my eye..
  14. Small update for today ! Moved forward..way forward from the last update . I figured it was time to knock out the plow frame , and pto pump. Bashed together more evergreen angles and sheet ..and lost enough Meng bolts to the carpet monster to seriously risk an emergency re stock order . The few that landed close enough the squirrels gathered up. Those tan hooks were off a 1/35 Abrams...a quick calculus equation showed the size difference was close enough lol A peek from behind also shows the new engine mount for the NHC 250 the 361 will have . A traded ACar from Dr Kerry came in handy this time..most of my builds get " green leakers "
  15. Race truck...very slick definitely watching this
  16. Thanks Jim ! Scratching one was easier than modifying a kit one..except my usual error of getting parts cut straight lol Thanks ! Think we al have stalled builds when something different catches our eye ..I could join the finish stalled builds group for yrs lol
  17. Looks like a fun project Kerry , if ya decide to ditch the dented parts , I'm sure to have replacements lol Either way you'll definitely have fun building in your style and I'm headed for snacks to watch it come together! Gotta skip popcorn nowadays argg
  18. Definitely a good kit to create different styles ! If your looking to go more modern, detail master sells a grill photo etch set that's super nice. Theres so many options , the choices are endless. I may have a spare set of round tanks if your interested in them
  19. Beautiful work KJ ! All the subtle details really pop, even looks like rubber rub strips on the fuel tank straps ! The stripes are super nice are they from Jerry
  20. Stunning detail work
