  1. Rain kept us inside today, so before my wife suggested I help w housework..I disappeared to the bench... The frame was painted Tamiya gunmetal, then details picked out in flat black. I built the missing fan shroud from a pill bottle while other parts were drying. I attached the headache rack, and deck plate after a quick shot of Duplicolor chrome..just bright enough but not blinding. The wheels were assembled and mounted..finally its a rolling chassis. I ended up squirting the moebius wheels w Duplicolor chrome to tone them down..subtle. A quick mock up to check the body parts still fit.
  2. The trailer parts look good, especially the little gears to work those huge doors
  3. That shipping crate turned out fantastic
  4. That cabs screaming for a small chop!
  5. Incredible work, the tractor looks fantastic Looking forward to your trailer
  6. Thats so sinister looking Awesome work
  7. @Steve H thanks for stopping by the truck stop, there's a ton of helpful builders around here. I'll try you tip on the wheels, I'm messing around with them this week
  8. I reached the paint stage today, base coated w sterling silver for the Tamiya Mica red to follow... This was before clear, so it's gonna dull down. The engine was painted w Pollyscale CP yellow, something I had on the paint rack. Now to wrap up the frame, and this will be moved to final assembly
  9. Good color choice ! They really did a good job molding the Bronco
  10. Incredible fabrication Too bad its gonna be covered in paint
  11. Nice rebuild to save another truck! Your dump truck looks good
  12. Hopefully it will help your project! My fenders didn't fit tight to the cab, so after separating them from the hood, I taped them in place to measure the gap. I ended up w a 040" gap on drivers side, and about 2mm on riders. I split the extension down center and filled the space...who said watching TV isn't helpful, I got the idea from custom car building lol Much closer
  13. Glad I could help ya out ! Its a real easy fix, I'll post photos of how I address it soon.
  14. Hey Dan, thanks for following! The bottom dump parts were passed along to me from the family of a departed icon of the model truck community we recently lost. I was asked if I would finish what he started, and down the road possibly parts will be available for others...
  15. Excellent looking IH ! I heard Dave Carey is working on the 9670 Transtar Eagle, hopefully he will consider this cab also
  16. Your trailer progress looks great! Always nice when you finish fitting the suspension and wheels...and they all touch! I've been nailed during IPMS shows for floaters more than once, it's never their wobbly tables lol
  17. Wow nice progress! Doing a glider build look really interesting I see I forgot my shocks looking at your frame lol
  18. Good looking interior, nice and basic like a work truck would have What color turquoise are you using ?
  19. Thanks Chuck! I didn't have much time this wknd, our daughters birthday party ate up 2 days..but the cupcakes were awesome! Today the rain showed up, so much for yard work yeahhhh! I'm tired of weeding flower beds lol I decided to model the T800 w dual air cleaners. The plaskit hood is designed for an internal type...so I penciled in a swoop to access the kit air cleaner holes, then sanded away the excess. If anyone decides to take this route..be forewarned theres more surgery ahead! I didn't take into account clearance for the air cleaners..photos showed the fenders are cut making little extensions. This for me is part of the fun kitbashing, finding the surprises and solving the dilemma, something I don't get from OOB. Heres where I plan to split them, right above the tape Before I broke out the razor saw a quick mockup revealed a gap between the cab and fender extensions, I might use pieces of the kit hood to fill..we'll see Thanks for following Jeff
  20. Gotta enjoy these older truck builds ! Looking forward to your progress
  21. Good start ! Looking forward to your progress
  22. Well done on restoring this old farm truck
  23. Excellent work! The wear on the dump body really turned out well, awesome contrast to the otherwise pristine build. Now ya gotta find space for this build !
