gotnitro? replied to ThatMustangGuy's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That color looks great on the suburban!! You mentioned it being a duplicolor paint, was it their perfect match line ?I've always been concerned about how " hot" that paint was and haven't tried it ..yet theres a fantastic selection of colors -

Cool pics I watched a special about GM where they take mockups outside and park them at different angles and the head design guy sits inside a building looking over the cars looking at how the light plays off the body lines. He said many have been altered after that because they determined the bodies weren't quite perfect yet. Very interesting show

Mack DM800
gotnitro? replied to Ken Gilkeson's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Your truck looks great w the altered track, always thought the Pontiac style looked ridiculous. I was also told to sand the rear spring leaves a small amount too. This allows the square block that fits over springs to slide the wheels closer together narrowing the spread -

I've had the off brand blades feel loose on my handles , always retigtening them before doing any delicate work I wrapped a small zip tie around the end of the handle of my metal xacto handle , it's never rolled off my crooked bench -

Good looking chassis -
Moluminum has fenders and numerous semi parts Aitm also No website but Gary wallace at gwtrucks has a variety of trucks parts available, youd have to email him for a list . I'm sure several people will add to the list ,but check the aftermarket truck section too , theres a directory of most the vendors available.
