  1. Thanks Dan! Glad to see ya lurking in the rigs again Masked up the rear chevron today, quickish work w 1/4 " tamiya tape. Noticed a wonky thin space above doors, photos showed a panel across there. A quick browse of the evergreen stock I hoard, found a suitable piece. Fired up the Gaahleri swallowtail and painted the stripes w safety lime. Now to clear the back, then paint all the Alclad aluminum parts. If I clear everything later, I could (will) lose the polished sheen. Thanks for following along 😀
  2. Pity all your work will be covered up in paint, so well done
  3. That boom looks so realistic w the hoses and fittings. Cool part seeing the paint peeking thru on the booms cylinder Decals look great too
  4. Appreciate the offer but I was able to secure one from a local who always swaps wheels w am. Thanks anyway
  5. Looking good so far ! Like those pvc tanks, so much cleaner than fighting w seams The printed dash is really well done, didn't realize they offered one
  6. Thanks Dom! Getting stripes inside the tunnel would be nearly impossible and looking right. Keeping them just outside will work better around bezels too i figure
  7. Heck yeah feed those squirrels !!!!
  8. Here's the next area getting attention...thinking green chevron stripes where lights are engraved w white doors...hmm kinda like this photo I pulled from web for ideas. The inside walls will be more polished diamond plate The steps and bumpers will be Alclad Any feedback or suggestions welcome
  9. Plastruct HO scale plate sheets Thanks ! Thank you
  10. Been a productive morning Alclad airframe aluminum was used for all the trim, sealed w aqua gloss. The hood is missing the grill surround, I'm planning on masking it off then painting it chrome along w the bumper and grill. I guess the engine will be a KW snapper 3406.
  11. Nice progress on the KW the eye candy is adding up Would a set of mobius wheels look better ?
  12. As they say progress isn't always forward in Model Land ! Looks like your moving along again nice save
  13. Last re-pop R Mack I built was a struggle too, seeing your photos brings back memories
  14. Oh man your talking about my Barney Dickenson mixer....funny story. They decided to scrap all the retired fleet a few yrs ago. Word got out around Huskytown, and they were allowed to take any parts to save the history, or keep their trucks running. One truck was sold, and shown during the yearly homecoming. I ran into the owner at a model show...my model was loosely based off his truck lol. Anyway heres the truck Okay..back to your build
  15. Wow that company keeps their trucks clean!!!! Orange plows look good w black hood tops imo
  16. Great work plumbing it out, and adding those little details. Fun to hide Easter eggs for others to notice
  17. Your red paint turned out fantastic!
  18. That looks so good as a tandem! Entire truck balances visually better
  19. Thanks ! Our local FD wears this color, I'm kinda building a couple trucks they could have if the need allowed. I finally figured out the hood, as usual I was overthinking the problem. Now for the bumper and get the hood and cab sprayed. Anyone have a spare R model front rim I could trade for ? I can't find the twin anywhere, and like the look
  20. Off to a bright start! The orange is awesome
  21. Awesome looking build ! I'm planning a Quint using the ALF after the rescue truck. I'm definitely watching
  22. Fired up the paint booth to fumigate for my squirrel problem, here's the rescue body w its 2nd color. My phone is washing out the brightness of the lime, its much better in person. Next up masking the diamond plate, paint w gloss black base , then Alclad. The back wall will have reflective chevrons from st supply Thanks for following along
