  1. So appreciative of you doing this " how to" especially the mold making part! I've been wanting to try these techniques Keep up the great info
  2. She's gonna be a loooonnnggg truck! Nice progress
  3. Those brake parts will definitely be an improvement over the kit pieces. I'm in the same raft waiting for parts to arrive to really push the build to paint. Looking forward to your progress
  4. Heck yeah breaking the rules !!!!
  5. @Scott Eriksen thanks for the engine ideas, plenty of options to pick from. I assembled the rolling chassis today to figure out if a stretch was required. Turns out a smallish 5/8 stretch worked out! I found a clean area between crossmembers, and hacked away. I still need to rebuild the flanges. The front is unfinished to allow the hood conversion changes, but Daniel said its all forward of the stock springs. The underside of the rescue body required a notch removed to allow the body to slip over. I plan to add some angled plates to tie everything together. Test fitting..we love mock ups Our dog started barking like crazy about this time, letting us know another package arrived...hmm turns out it was my scale finishes order! Jeff
  6. Thanks ! I settled on using the round type so drilling holes will work
  7. Good looking mock up w the race hauler body. Like the direction your dash is moving too
  8. Gary, thats the problem with squirrels..they always help dig up ideas lol Mine seem Hell bent on distracting me w something different every time I sit down. I'd hoped the treats we left them would help, but think our cat is collaborating w those furry rats
  9. Glad to see ya back at the bench Tom! Boy you really jumped back in chest deep w the test truss, and it looks great. You'll be thinking about that boom your entire trip lol
  10. Awesome looking build, has a certain " flow" to it. Everything just works together, not cobbled parts Never thought Pete headlights would work on an Autocar, but you've shown it perfectly
  11. Which one are you thinking of so I can look thru the stash
  12. Following along! Love those old Chevy trucks, our local FD had a few
  13. Thanks ! I have some of these in the stash, but wanted to avoid cutting out slots for them in the doors.
  14. Glad to have you following along! I scored the Louisville kit yesterday, so I can begin to build up a roller. My hoods being shipped out this week, I need to settle on the engine.
  15. Okay, I ordered several sets of KFS slam locks from ST supply. Now begs the question which style would make more sense between the round or rectangular? Most photos I've seen show a round lock, guess it depends on fire company
  16. Kinda like our puppy staring at our dinner plates lol so longingly begging for a snack
  17. Excellent exactly what I was looking for thanks !
  18. Sitting w the trouble makers on this build, have my snacks ready
  19. I'm hunting for the PE slam locks now
  20. My combo for 2024, T800 conversion hauling a scratchbuilt Trail King bottom dump trailer. My 1/350 bird farm really distracted me from finishing many builds.. Hopefully 25 is more productive! The crew is storing provisions now lol
  21. A trick I learned to remove parts off the supports is using a hot knife to melt the rods away. Their commonly used in wood burning sets. I like to melt the parts off, then snip the rest away w fingernail clippers.
  22. Great looking parts, should yield a fantastic looking build Ok I'll bite..whats a Wig Wag, and how's it work
  23. Nice looking mock up! Love the red spokes
