  1. I was tempted to use red, but looking over my display I noticed a trend lol. Tamiya mica red seems to be a favorite of mine
  2. Good point! I'll probably use the spare white cab I have to avoid issues
  3. Good looking tires right there ! Where did you get your Hendrickson lift axle from ? Sounds like both our orders left Paul's at the same time, mine got snowed in in Syracuse after our last batch of weather. I'm about 45 minutes south, and barely a dusting..they had several feet over the wknd
  4. I couldn't stand it any longer, I had to tape everything up for a mock up. I was impressed how different the longer hood made the Ford appear..now I know I'm on the right track. While I had everything together I decided to try out my new airbrush, a Gaahleri swallowtail. Priming a few cursory plastic spoons, followed up w scale finishes safely lime yellow. Just the color I was hoping for Jeff
  5. Your mirrors look fantastic, brass rod scales much better than kit parts..aka utility poles
  6. You've gotta bring this beast to Spring Thaw again, always enjoy chatting builds w ya
  7. Thats a sweet looking red ! Looking forward to seeing some color on this, always liked the Granite appearance cabs

  11. Fantastic work! Having fun building a custom truck keeps the mojo flowing
  12. My hood from Plaskit arrived today, beautifully cast as norm. I'll need to score the panel line for the grill surround before painting. Now to get back to working on this before the squirrels find something else
  13. What brand mold release do you recommend
  14. Gary , you have this Acar dialed in !
  15. Love the proposed paint scheme by the way, I hit submit too fast lol
  16. Archer closed up shop I heard, but I used a different brand for my school bus..and was very happy. I'll check tomo the brand, but it seems like micromark sold them, in a large sheet
  17. Incredible details, love following your build
  18. Thanks Dom ! I'll check it out
  19. So appreciative of you doing this " how to" especially the mold making part! I've been wanting to try these techniques Keep up the great info
  20. She's gonna be a loooonnnggg truck! Nice progress
  21. Those brake parts will definitely be an improvement over the kit pieces. I'm in the same raft waiting for parts to arrive to really push the build to paint. Looking forward to your progress
  22. Heck yeah breaking the rules !!!!
  23. @Scott Eriksen thanks for the engine ideas, plenty of options to pick from. I assembled the rolling chassis today to figure out if a stretch was required. Turns out a smallish 5/8 stretch worked out! I found a clean area between crossmembers, and hacked away. I still need to rebuild the flanges. The front is unfinished to allow the hood conversion changes, but Daniel said its all forward of the stock springs. The underside of the rescue body required a notch removed to allow the body to slip over. I plan to add some angled plates to tie everything together. Test fitting..we love mock ups Our dog started barking like crazy about this time, letting us know another package arrived...hmm turns out it was my scale finishes order! Jeff
