  1. Last re-pop R Mack I built was a struggle too, seeing your photos brings back memories
  2. Oh man your talking about my Barney Dickenson mixer....funny story. They decided to scrap all the retired fleet a few yrs ago. Word got out around Huskytown, and they were allowed to take any parts to save the history, or keep their trucks running. One truck was sold, and shown during the yearly homecoming. I ran into the owner at a model show...my model was loosely based off his truck lol. Anyway heres the truck Okay..back to your build
  3. Wow that company keeps their trucks clean!!!! Orange plows look good w black hood tops imo
  4. Great work plumbing it out, and adding those little details. Fun to hide Easter eggs for others to notice
  5. Your red paint turned out fantastic!
  6. That looks so good as a tandem! Entire truck balances visually better
  7. Thanks ! Our local FD wears this color, I'm kinda building a couple trucks they could have if the need allowed. I finally figured out the hood, as usual I was overthinking the problem. Now for the bumper and get the hood and cab sprayed. Anyone have a spare R model front rim I could trade for ? I can't find the twin anywhere, and like the look
  8. Off to a bright start! The orange is awesome
  9. Awesome looking build ! I'm planning a Quint using the ALF after the rescue truck. I'm definitely watching
  10. Fired up the paint booth to fumigate for my squirrel problem, here's the rescue body w its 2nd color. My phone is washing out the brightness of the lime, its much better in person. Next up masking the diamond plate, paint w gloss black base , then Alclad. The back wall will have reflective chevrons from st supply Thanks for following along
  11. @BK9300 thanks for suggestion, I just need to keep enough frame for bumper to attach. I didn't realize this kit didn't have a real hinge point, just knobs that rested in pockets. Either way I guess I'll need to notch frame for room to tilt, hood fits fairly well to cowl now..fairly well like resin does
  12. Okay, I need some help...I'm stumped for ideas to hinge the hood . I thought using a tube across frame, w paper clip hinges would work. Theres not room for hood to open w frame. Heres what I have right now.. Thanks I'm getting past annoyed
  13. Interesting build to follow w all the information about plow trucks, most of us never realize when they pass . The details blow my mind, thanks for posting your work
  14. Plaskit has them, and multiple color options. Hes going to be on vacation for a stretch soon, in case you were hoping to order one.
  15. Awesome work on the under lift ! Those printed parts look fantastic also
  16. Definitely would suggest one ! I've always been pleased w Daniels castings.
  17. I was tempted to use red, but looking over my display I noticed a trend lol. Tamiya mica red seems to be a favorite of mine
  18. Good point! I'll probably use the spare white cab I have to avoid issues
  19. Good looking tires right there ! Where did you get your Hendrickson lift axle from ? Sounds like both our orders left Paul's at the same time, mine got snowed in in Syracuse after our last batch of weather. I'm about 45 minutes south, and barely a dusting..they had several feet over the wknd
  20. I couldn't stand it any longer, I had to tape everything up for a mock up. I was impressed how different the longer hood made the Ford appear..now I know I'm on the right track. While I had everything together I decided to try out my new airbrush, a Gaahleri swallowtail. Priming a few cursory plastic spoons, followed up w scale finishes safely lime yellow. Just the color I was hoping for Jeff
  21. Your mirrors look fantastic, brass rod scales much better than kit parts..aka utility poles
  22. You've gotta bring this beast to Spring Thaw again, always enjoy chatting builds w ya
