Tamiya spray exterior and interior, AMT Custom & Competition tires, BMF. This is a very nice kit. Lots of detail and goes together pretty well. I did have fitment issues with the front bumper and valence. Somehow the front fenders spread out a bit at final assembly. I also had issues with the decals as you my notice. They were very sticky which is usually a good thing but made it difficult for me to slide around and get straight. Micro Set made them even more sticky. The hood decal/paint was also a challenge. I suggest anyone that likes to build get one of these kits. Thanks for looking.

So this is how I addressed it with a tip from @kitbuilderchris on IG. I measured 3.8 mm from the edge of the hood and masked the edges. Then sprayed Tamiya TS-29 semi gloss black. This is where I used Chris's idea and cut the decal into 3 parts. I applied the front piece first. Then the sides. Not perfect but I'm moving on. In retrospect, I could have sanded the paint edges a bit because it does show under the decal. Also, the decal has a bit more sheen than the paint. I considered spraying semi gloss clear but decided not to. As they say, It is what it is. Thanks

Thanks Brian and Rex. I'm going to use Tamiya semi gloss black which looks like it may have less gloss than the decal. I have the same concern about the color match between the decal and paint as well as the overlap being visible. The thought of just using the pinstripe is a bit frightening to me. I'm not sure I'll be able to get it to lay straight and the masking will have to be dead on. Rex, you've done a good job on it. With the amount of detail this kit has and the extensive decal sheet, I wonder why Revell didn't supply a full decal for the hood. That would have made things a lot easier. Still not sure how I'm going to tackle this one.

Tamiya Lacquer paint question

You can wet sand the Tamiya primer and get a smooth semi gloss white as your base. -
Thank you David. Yes I used the 14's with the Fireball wheel backs. They fit perfectly in the modelhaus tires.

Surprised to see a stock build. Was expecting a hotrod. Very nice.

Thank you Bob. It is a pretty simple kit but with a good amount of detail. At some point I'd like to do an "Endura delete" version which is replacing the painted front bumper with chrome and the exposed headlight grill. A vinyl top might go well with that. Thanks again

Thanks Ed. The Fireball Pontiac rallies are great. Very detailed with the wheel face, separate beauty ring, lug bolts, air valve and paint masks to get the two tone just right.

The kit has a pretty basic engine but this was built curbside. You can detail the kit engine to bring it to life or maybe drop in an LS or something blown.

Thanks Eric. Looking forward to seeing your 69.
