half a dozen 69 camaro's *new pic's 3-8* all 6 complete!
tbill replied to tbill's topic in WIP: Model Cars
thanks, although the more I look at the bmf on the door panels, the less I like my efforts. just isn't as clean as I would like it to be. if the next set comes out better, I will for sure re-do these, if the next set comes out the same, then I will know it's the best I can do. hope to have time to get some work done this weekend on this project. thanks for following along.... -

Joe, looking great man. a little tip, be prepared to go cross-eyed installing the wire looms, man those things are itty-bitty lol. -
that is impressive, very nice all the way around.
-
great looking build, really like the color/stripe combo. well done.
-
Ray, you must have one cool closet, cause that looks like a keeper to me. nice job on that, I also like the contrast between the two.
-
looks fantastic, love it

Erik, in real 'vision', you can see the difference in the stripe color versus the tail sections that are painted. I knew it was going to happen, but decided to live with it. over all, it does look ok, I think once all detailed up, it will blend in pretty good. Dan, you're right, I do think that'd be cool, but i'm set on doing the titan at this point.....just have an idea and gonna run with it.... Bo, thanks man Mike, you had me rolling on the floor with that........score anything good?? ok, some minimal progress, not happy with some of it, as the bmf and some of the proximity of some details got the better of me, but I have 5 more to improve upon [so some of this may get redone eventually] again, the interior bits are still 'loose', just trying to get a feel for it all. I used PE speaker grills and PE dash details. thanks for looking, hope to get more work done this weekend. -

what is flocking? help?
tbill replied to the weapon x's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
the flocking I used is from 'The Model Car Garage'. I like the 3M as it's a one shot deal, I didn't have to re-do the flock application, and in person, it has a nice look to it, not too thick, or see thru. -
what is flocking? help?
tbill replied to the weapon x's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
so, after trying several different methods of applying flocking, my laziness got the best of me, and I tried some 3M 77 trim adhesive [i had a can laying around after trying tin foil on a rig trailer side], I found it to work rather nice. I masked off what I didn't want 'carpeted', sprayed the 3M, then coated it with flock. it only took one application, versus the method of using 'wet' paint, or using a clear acrylic put on with a brush, which seemed to take multiple applications to get the look/coverage. this may be old news, but I thought I would share my experience. -
this got lost in the change over, but here is the prestige kit with the pete, Camaro and firebird,

Prostar vs. Lonestar - The Builder's Choice?
tbill replied to vincen47's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I have only built the prostar so far, [have a lonestar in the hoard], but it was a joy to build. only touchy parts are the 'hood hinge groove' and the hood hinges themselves. great kit, I even bought a second one for the hoard. with 53' trailer -
I do the same, just on a smaller scale.....so far....haha....
-
I was 'angry' that I bought it after listening to it

I am a big fan, I will also admit they have a few clunker songs, but 99% of the library is terrific. they seem to have an album for every mood [for me anyway]. you can also hear lot of different types of music in their 'catalog', rock, blues, country, etc., lot of good stuff to be heard, don't let the songs played to death on the radio sour you, lot of good tunes that don't make the air waves [or very often anyway]. having said that, keep your ears and mind open, I listen to everything from Tony Bennett[sp?] to Metallica [who made an album so bad I won't mention the name that can't be mentioned, lol], lot of good tunes out there if ya take a minute to listen
-
yes, I should have said 'free for us users', as I am quite sure it costs a bundle to 'run the joint'
-
Dan, thanks. I thought it was a pretty decent kit. I too have another one, built one as a kid in white, so thinking the second one will replicate the one I did as a kid.
-
looks terrific, the two tone really pops.

tbill replied to tbill's topic in WIP: Model Cars
ok, just reposting 'lost' stuff. upside is, it will look like I am making progress at break neck speed got a few interiors flocked [still need detailed, just put the parts in for the general feel] -
i'm gonna say thank you as well, without this place I would be lost, and have 'found' local people that are on here that I would have otherwise not met in person. to the folks that seem to have issue with this free service, it is FREE after all, and if the whole thing went away, I don't think anyone would owe us an explanation. again, thanks for doing what you guys do.

Joe, it's testors 'panther pink' lacquer, in a rattle can. got it from my local hobby lobby.
