tbill replied to Superpeterbilt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
well, was a good day when I got home, these got delivered today the Alaskan hauler is sealed, the other two are sealed inside the collection is almost complete, few more kits I'd like to have, but the list is getting shorter........... -
will be waiting patiently for your return I happened to hit hobby lobby the other day, they finally had one of these foose kits in stock, so after a 40% coupon, I added another one to the pile

well, got 4 interiors done now, -
you can get great results with spray cans. I bought an air brush and have used it 3 times [on stuff I couldn't find a color in spray cans for], I prefer 'rattle cans' as many people call them. as mentioned, with spray cans, a little polishing can go a long way to making awesome paint jobs. I will say this, it does take some practice, but can be done quite well. here are some spray can jobs, that is spray can paint with some spray can clear before being polished.

Chevy Titan 90 & revell auto transporter
tbill replied to tbill's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I think I am going to stick with mostly kit parts, as I want to keep it a Titan. time will tell how it goes I guess I do have a couple 3 Astro's in the stash, so eventually I will PE kit one of those. Dennis, as Jesse mentioned, it was leaseway . I assume that was the company name, as I clearly remember the trucks doors having the GM logo and leaseway painted on the them. going more for the color scheme of those trucks, then doing the Titan as a replica of one. Jesse, my grand dad sold GMC rigs for a lot of years, somewhere around here I have a 'build calculator' he used to use to determine just how to build a truck per customers hauling criteria. I really need to find that and post some pic's of it, it was kinda cool. might actually start the chassis on this this weekend between Camaro parts assembly.......stay tuned........ -
looking great Stan, that grille is awesome, great job opening it up. also love the window treatment!

thanks Carl tonight's little bit of progress, two door panels done on another interior, also have the dash about done, and waiting on the super glue on the PE part of the steering wheel to dry so I can finish that off. not much time on the bench this week, hopefully Saturday I can get some work done. thanks for looking.... -

.....it's funny in a way now that I think about it, all the Camaro's are in GM colors, the Titan on the other hand is actually an AMC color, lol. I went with the AMC light blue as it looked to me about the color of the GM car haulers I used to see when I first started working in GM dealerships. with luck, when this project is done, it'll all work together and look 'right'........ -
