  1. ya, holy cow this sleeper is gonna be the death of me My goal is to have no seams visible on the 5 parts that make up the sleeper, I am sick of sanding/priming/sanding/putty/sand/prime/sand/sand/sand/sand........did I mention sanding??? to make matters worse, the tanker I am building to go along with this needs major putty work on the bottom to make it smooth/seamless, I must have lost my mind on this one, lol. how anyone could be a body man for a living is beyond me, lol, in all seriousness though, I am making progress. have one side of the sleeper just about smoothed out, frame is almost ready for paint and the motor is 1/2 together. should have some shameless 'look at me' pic's by the end of the weekend
  2. looking great Dennis, ramps look terrific, well done!
  3. well, I guess since the merc's, '32 fords and 69 Camaro's have been done to death, it was time for a body style change. as mentioned, the execution of jamming all the parts together must be top notch fit and finish wise, but the total design does leave one wondering if that night in tiawanna [sp?] went on a bit too long.
  4. well, I figure the latest round of re-issues is probably going to be the worst [as mentioned due to old tooling] I have a few 'original' issue kits, and some 2nd and 3rd issue kits, and some of the 'newest' re-issue stuff. you can sort of see the 'decline' in the end product thru the re-issues. but hey, that's half the fun right? [no, not really, lol, not a huge fan of actual body work ]
  5. too cool! outstanding project.
  6. tell everyone it's a push button automatic
  7. good looking fleet JT, you need to make a truck stop diorama i'm sure I've seen a truck stop with an orange theme......
  8. looks great outside, that came out terrific, nice job KJ.
  9. i'm glad these rigs are going to be re-issued [according to the Italeri site], I can't wait to get one or two....
  10. most excellent! as JT mentioned, I love the exhaust color treatment, that just looks terrific, just add's that 'little something'. beautiful job on this truck, just beautiful.
  11. looks great, I hope to see this in person in Utica............hint, hint....
  12. looks great, darn near perfect match as well! can't wait to see more
  13. thanks guys . the sleeper is taking a lot of body work, trying to get all the seams to disappear, and I hate actual body work it's looking ok though, hope to have some new pic's up this afternoon.
  14. fiery orange Jim and white lightening.
  15. thanks for all the info guys. while I mull over if I am going to box stock it, or change the items mentioned, I started on the body. got the main cab painted and have the hood in what's going to be the secondary color. still need to mask the hood and paint the main color on it. have part of the sleeper together, gonna need a lot of body work on it as the seems are terrible. here's where I am at with it,
  16. .............he came dancin' across the water.......
  17. glad to be seeing this again looking great so far, keep at it.
  18. 50 degrees yesterday, 40 and rain this morning @8 am, 10 degree drop in temp by 9am and snow, ended up at this point with about 8 inches of heavy wet snow. got out of work early [roads were horrible, took twice as long to get home as usual], and 'did' the driveway. scattered snow now, hope I do not have to do the driveway again in the am. c'mon spring.........
  19. as far as I am concerned, muscle car means light car [relatively speaking], big cubic inches. as mentioned, pony car/intermediate body with biggest power plant available. won't stop, won't steer, but when the tires 'hook', it goes like stink that is my definition anyway.
  20. I like the first one myself. good luck, I think color choice is always the hardest part of a build.............
