  1. oh boy! that looks great, love the stripes/colors! love it so far
  2. got a hobby lobby or michaels store near you? hobby lobby usually has a great selection of paint and kits, and they have a 40% off coupon every week. check them out if you can.
  3. good looking rig ya got there! my theory so far [only back into building since sept last year] is detail the heck out of what the box gives ya. a little color here and there makes a huge difference [in my eyes anyway]. I don't know jack about big rigs, other than I like the looks of them, and like building them, so I try to add color to engines, shocks, etc., and try to detail the dash as best I can. biggest thing you can do, as mentioned earlier, is to paint the cab lights/tail lights/turn signals. if you don't have it already, testors has metallic amber paint and red metallic paint for just this purpose, and it makes a huge difference. it's the little things that can really make a model 'pop'. this was my first build after 20+ years away from it, not perfect, but a little paint here and there brought it to life, [/url ]
  4. funny, I was thinking gold..... if you could somehow fade the yellow on the back into the white 'rays' I think that would pull the back together nicely, then you could stripe around the whole thing, rather than separate the 'sun' from it. [hope that makes sense]
  5. you're doing a fantastic job on this build, great looking work so far
  6. pinstripe around the borders and it's a home run i think.
  7. this is going to be pretty slick, I like it
  8. great looking build, wow, super job!
  9. looks great O. those old decals are tough, my 66 elco decals silvered something awful, future helped some, but still don't look right. car looks sweet, nice build.
  10. that sir, is freekin cool!
  11. very nice re-build, what a beauty, love it.
  12. stunning! absolutely beautiful build, well done!
  13. looking good, feels good to be building again doesn't it?
  14. thanks for all the positive comments so far, much appreciated. have made some more progress, trailer is about done...all the lights etc.are on it. put it in the display case for now to keep the dust off of it, when the truck is done, i'll finish up the inside of the trailer. here is where the truck itself is at as of this morning, exhaust parts and stack supports are drying now, should be close to wrapping it up by weeks end I think. thanks for looking.
  15. looking good, love those fenders!
  16. it's all good JT, lack of orange paint made your math a little off, totally understandable
  17. looking good! trailer is looking terrific!
  18. ..........jaw on floor........ wow, incredible build.....
  19. wow, looks awesome! great weathering on that pair.
  20. i gotta say, i think of all the rigs/trailers you've done, this is my favorite. great looking combo.
  21. looks great JT, another awesome build!
  22. just caught back up with this, awesome job on all of it, camper looks terrific!! I don't know if you have a hobby lobby store near you, but if so, they have a good selection of what I assume is balsa wood in various shapes/sizes, and a few different bits in the doll house section- actual wood flooring and some 'beadboard' that could be made in to flooring. this is the doll house wood flooring, that's in a 25th scale rig trailer.
  23. holy cow that's nice!
  24. a little more progress, cab is now cleared and buffed out, turned out pretty good I think. going to keep plugging away on the frame and have to decide what color for the interior and the motor.
