That turned out great Ken!

Added some more putty to a few spots, sanded off the bed trim running down to the tail lamps, built the actual box/bed and got that fitting nicely into the body, and narrowed the ‘wing’ and massaged the uprights to fit the bed rails. I think next up is going to be figuring out how to finish off the lower front fenders. Thanks again for looking.

Thanks all. To be honest, hadn’t got to the point of the tail gate trim yet, not sure if I want carry it down, or lose it all together. I think once I get the body back there smooth, I’ll have a better idea. Still pondering what to do with the front lower fenders, have to get it somewhat on wheels and see what looks ‘right’. Thanks for looking, and feel free to throw out ideas.....

That’s looking great, as mentioned, just enough gunk on stuff to give a realistic look. -
That is kool! That color is dynamite on that car!

So, spent a little time today messing with this. Grafted the tail light panel out of the 70 superbird onto the body, shortened the height of it a touch, and sanded the outer edges to conform to the body, then cut the tail lamps off the elky bumper, and trimmed that to fit the new panel. Naturally, more body work is needed, but the base is there, just need to finesse it now. I was able to trim down the elky kit radiator, more like cut the mounting tabs off of it, and managed to mock that up in an acceptable position. So after that was figuring out the engine situation. I figured I had to go mopar, and it was a toss up between a 440 and a hemi, well, the hemi won out. Dug thru the spares boxes and found the extra hemi out of the 68 charger kit. So I built that up enough to start fitting in the chassis, then realized I didn’t have a mopar trans. So after some thought, I figured I’d cut the trans off the elky engine and use that. another benefit of this decision is being able to use elky kit driveshaft, and having a reference point for the trans tailshaft. Ok, I got lazy a little, but it’s going to work out nice. I was also able to use the headers from the charger kit after some massaging. So, anyway, progress is being made. Thanks for looking.

Great job on an awful kit, having built one, I know the trials and tribulations of that mess of a box of plastic. Looks great, well done! -
Great colors, gorgeous build, whole car just flows beautifully.

They were trying to pull that off in my area, we have no venue large enough to handle the masses......, got shot down everywhere ...

Best hijack ever if ya ask me ! Guess I’m gonna have to build a fleet of different superbird/Daytona nosed cars, lol. Again, that looks really cool, and I may have to try that at some point....., if this one turns out half way decent.....
