Cool! I guess I should have read the whole description. Personally, I'd give them a try based on the number of downloads of this model, and followers overall. It looks like they've updated the file to permit better 1/24 and 1/25 scale printing.

Well, its been out there since at least 2018, and it doesn't always involve someone contacting your phone service and asking to have a new SIM. There was a large, sophisticated network of hackers that was brought down a couple of years ago that hit T-Mobile and swapped many accounts. Enforcement is always behind the crooks. Personally, I never use my phone for financial services, and I love tech.

I've never seen this designer before. Btw, do you typically buy fully assembled engine files to print? How does that work for you?

Taking bets on Rust-Oleum / Testors paint.

Yes, their nozzles seem designed to push a lot of paint per spray. -
Awesome work!

Thanks Mathias. I think its good as a shelf car so I don't plan on doing any more with it. I just didn't think it was worthy of a contest entry. -

Hey gang! I'm posting this to show that I did finish my 57 Fairlane build, however it did not pass QC inspection. Therefore, I will not be posting it to the finished builds, so in essence I'm withdrawing. This kit has quite a few fit issues, and coupled with my own faux pas and distractions, made this more challenging than it should have been. In the end though, I had fun with it and learned a lot. Congrats to the finishers. -
Ever go on a Road Trip in a Classic Car?
MeatMan replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
True, but a 2016 model is light years away from what was put out in 1970, so its not exactly an equal comparison. -
Ever go on a Road Trip in a Classic Car?
MeatMan replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I kinda did. in 1978 I drove my recently purchased 1970 SS454 Chevelle from Ft. Knox, KY to Cleveland, Oh. It had been "hot rodded" but was in generally good condition. The gearset had me going no more than 60 mph the whole way to keep the engine from screaming bloody murder. It was mostly uneventful but about an hour from home the fuel pump stopped working, and just as I pulled over a "Smokey" pulled up behind me and told me I'd better be gone by the time he got back or he was towing it away. After some diagnosing I found out that the electric fuel pump was wired to the windshield wiper fuse 😧, so when I hit the wipers the fuse blew. I rewired it elsewhere and was on my way in about 20 minutes. No probs after. -
Very nice!

Beautiful work! -
I feel you on this one. I was actually on the team that integrated our MRP system as a "subject matter expert" and they didn't listen to anything I told them on how we used it. Total train wreck! MS Excel became the workaround.

Exactly! Especially when the odds of anyone having the proof that you built it wrong are nearly nil!!

Congrats on your decision. I retired at 62 in 2018 when my boss' boss decided he wanted me to take on more responsibilities (that would have required me to be available 24/7) for zero extra pay. That said, I'm happy I did it and never looked back. The biggest thing to spend time assessing is health care. I didn't qualify for discounts under ACA plans so I signed up for COBRA. We had Cadillac plans at work so it was quite pricey. When COBRA lapsed, I went on ACA and it was no bargain either, but a lot less than COBRA but a step down in care as well, but I was healthy so there was no care impact. At 65 I signed up for Medicare. Next is whether to take SS early. I didn't, in fact I haven't yet, but with the way they're planning on changing SS, my decision would be different if I was leaving next year. If they have to start cutting back before I die I'll have left money on the table. My math was pretty easy in that I really didn't have a choice to stay or go. I couldn't see being on someones tether. Enjoy!!

An update on my Fairlane to show I'm still in it. Still have some minor paint issues to sort out, and I have to build an exhaust system with no where to put it. ? -
Well done!

Yes, AI and robots will replace humans.
MeatMan replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Perhaps so, but this is one basis for my comment. To keep the feature (relatively) cost effective they cut corners. As for Space X, I've always been impressed with them. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2024/09/30/how-bad-is-teslas-self-driving-feature/75411449007/ -

The agile robot is impressive! I would have been even more impressed if it had slapped the clown that pushed it down. ? As for the Tesla bot, if it is as good as the driverless feature in Tesla cars, we will all be dead in a decade as they start to go out of control. As for the original post with the bots reading iPads, I'd as why, since they're all networked any way (like modern cars) and don't need to read, just download. -
With that said, did you ever find what you wanted?

I've heard this before and agree to an extent, but I've found that you can't find some colors in lacquer that come in acrylic and vice versa. How do you deal with that?
