  1. Thanks Bill! You are the man! But, I really don't appreciate you making it look like (with bold red print, inside my post!) that everything I said in my post was in some way incorrect, which is not at all the case. Maybe you should save the school master routine for some other forum.
  2. Thanks Steven, are you painting outside with the Dupli-Color?
  3. Ok, thanks you guys. It's beautiful paint Bahama Blue Metallic, so I can't wait to see it shine. I've been having some good luck with painting as of late so I thought it had to be the humidity. Man, once the sun goes down that humidity comes on like a herd of wild horses! lol Wow, Steven, that's not what I wanted to hear! You're not kidding are you? I had Tamiya do the same thing a couple of days ago and it never does that when I use it. I forgot to mention that I'm just painting on spoons, so , no big deal, just a learning experience.
  4. Tony, that truck is definately headed for some kind of pond, I just tried LA's Awsome, got it at Dollar General for $4 I think, half gallon. Stuff took MM enamel off really well, 24hrs and it's just white plastic. Far better (quicker) results than Purple Power. I'm having the same problems with paint drying dull after wet coats, (see post) and I'm using the same kind of paint you are. Sounds like you are painting outside? Which is what I do, and , I think the high humidity causes the paint to dry dull. It's happened twice to me this week, once with Tamiya, and, today with Dupli-Color. I'm not sure what's causing your paint to peel off though, some basic principle with tape, or , paint drying times, or , both that you're overlooking. I'll be following to see how things turn out for you.
  5. I'm painting spoon outside with Dupli-color 'Perfect Match' (on my front porch) and everything is right with what I'm doing, (I think) but , the wet coats are turning dull after they start to set up, and, dry that way. The only thing I can think of that might be causing this is that the 'relative humidity' is about 65-70%, the humidity is 47%. This same thing happened a couple of days ago. Just want to know if humidity can cause this effect. Thanks.
  6. Don't worry , we're still here. Sorry to hear about all the mess you've had to go through Brad.
  7. Looking good Mike, nice color choices.
  8. Nice looking build, I just got the 'Hot Rod' Magizine version of this, I like the blue better! What have you got left to do?
  9. Nice build. Are those wheels and tires from the kit?
  10. Welcome back. Looks nice so far, great colors. Where's the Hemi? Nice job on the flocking.
  11. Very nice Jeff, beautiful build. The wheels look outstanding.
  12. That's cool, wish I could see it in person, bet it looks even better.
  13. Looks great Tyrone, that last shot is killer!
  14. Looks pretty good Steve, I love painting with flat black.
  15. Cool beans Brett!
  16. He didn't 'build' it, he 'detailed' it. Nice job.
  17. We'll be waiting.
  18. Steve, great to see you actively pursuing this hobby, it's great fun, and , will keep you out of trouble!
  19. No problem Scott, that's what makes this place worthwhile (is that one word?) That Willy's 'cammer is a nice one, I have that kit too. The '65 Mustang Funny Car 'cammer isn't actually that bad either. It does have the correct valve cover's for an early A/FX version of the engine, which is what is shown in the article I posted. By that I mean it doesn't have 'Ford' stamped into the covers.
  20. Charlie, it looks cool the way it is! Can't wait to see it finished.
  21. VERY cool! That looks different than the 327 in my '67 Sport Coupe
  22. Great work Sean, beautiful. And great question Bob, as I just bought the MPC 'Hot Rod' Mustang kit yesterday! It looks very similar. Hope Sean clues us in on the steering rod.
