I stopped at the local Walgreens Pharmacy a couple of days ago to pick up something else and bought the only model car they had. It's a 1/24th scale black Viper coupe by Maisto. As with most, it's unfortunately made in China. The price was $10.00.

1/25 AMT Surf Shark 1959 Cadillac Ambulance
Motor City replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
maybe it can be retooled into a '60 Cadillac ... -
We'll have to wait for the Faust review of this kit. He picks the real losers.

1/24 Racing Champions w/cracked paint and shrunk windshield
Motor City replied to dlwracer's topic in Diecast Corner
I bought a Buick Grand National front fender emblem when the cars came out. It is diecast and the chrome is failing, so I think it has the same issue as these models. -
relax; there will be a new announcement shortly ...

New Dodge Muscle Car for '24?
Motor City replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Now we can look forward to what happened in Texas in February. ? -
Since this is a model website, did you ever get the Old Beetle and New Beetle pen holders made on the premises at any Canadian auto show? I got one in Detroit and the other I picked up from the floor (some poor kid must have lost it) at the Chicago show.

My nephew has an Australian-built Chevy police car (365 net horsepower). He buys parts all of the time from down under, and from what my brother and nephew have said, there is plenty to be found on the internet, with fast shipping, too.

My brother has a G8 GT. It's a cool car, even for a four-door! The EXP was decent looking, so nothing to be embarrassed about there. I'm glad I was able to get a kit of it. We all have different tastes. I prefer the big cars of the 1960s with bucket seats and the early personal luxury coupes (Riviera, Eldorado, Toronado, Thunderbird). A bonus is these are much more affordable than muscle cars of that era. The only downside is the lack of an aftermarket industry for restoration parts.

Hi Adam, I actually ended up with my folks' loaded '76 Regal coupe, which I would still have today if it hadn't rusted out in the cowl/firewall area on both sides. I sold it to a co-worker when it was 15 years old. Some cars from the mid-seventies actually had nice styling, but the performance was lame (there I go again). I have a cool '77 Eldorado Biarritz from that era. The Corrado wasn't bad looking, but it's too small for my American tastes.

As soon as I saw the title of this, I thought that Adam must be at it again. Who else would do a review of such a "loser" car? I had a college professor who actually owned a red Scirocco. This is what I call the lame period of AMT when they were doing import models of various vehicles since the Big Three had mostly gotten away from the annual kits. Come to think of it, many cars were kind of lame then!

New Ford email announcement...
Motor City replied to BlackSheep214's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Rob is correct and the announcement is Tuesday, June 8 -
Since the Arnie Beswick '69 GTO funny car was reissued recently, maybe we will see a retooled '69 GTO with and without hidden headlights, and the available Judge package. It's also time to restore the '66 GS tool and also tool a '67 GS. The GS is probably the most under-represented muscle car from that era.

1953 Ford models used for choosing colors
Motor City replied to 89AKurt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think the first photo was used in Ford's 50th Anniversary book from 1953. -

That's a very thoughtful and generous donation to the museum. -
1/25 AMT 1964 Olds Cutlass F85 Convertible
Motor City replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Just use some Elmer's white glue along the perimeter of the wheel back where it meets the tire. It will dry clear. No need to build up with Evergreen. -

I thought there were issues with poor vent window fit on the convertible version of the 1/25 Revell kit? -

I've got a set of almost NOS carpeted floor mats in red, NOS front air dam, and NOS wheel trim ring if anyone is restoring a real Beretta (mine was a '91 I ordered new) -
Rare 'Cuda up for auction
Motor City replied to ksnow's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'll pass since I don't like black interiors or the exterior color (and don't have the ridiculous amount of money it will sell for)!? -
Yes, that should be a great kit for truck fans and congratulations to Round2 for making the effort to improve it!
