I like it, you've captured the feel of a well-used club racer.

I don't see a completed model.?

One-off Build quiz (Deadline Sep. 5, 2020 0:00 CET)

A dramatic machine but sadly a misinterpretation by Zagato of Frank Costin's aerodynamic design. Not a great success, but just look at it! I love those brutal V8 Maseratis. -
A rare beast! Thanks David -Don.

The new Ford van does look good. They used to be everywhere when I was young. What's the cream and beige roadster in one of your shots above? Delage?

One-off Build quiz (Deadline Sep. 5, 2020 0:00 CET)

Well I got this immediately, I love cars like this, but I did have to check the date. Thanks Mike and Steve! Cheers, -Don. -
Ugh. I had no idea and less interest. Not my kind of car. What was it powered by? I suspected the Ford connection because of the clumsy grille and the rectangular secondary lights that jar with the rest of the design. I did spend a lot of time looking for this gem but to no avail... Keep 'em coming, Mike!

Nice, very nice - would it be allowed to run in any official drags without a roll bar?

I wondered if it was posted on April 1st but it was 5 days after that..

Big V8s
DonW replied to unclescott58's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
In fairness the subject of the thread is 'Big V8s' although some 4-cyls have crept in! -
Despite my comment in French it really wasn't easy despite knowing the oily bits came from Renault.?

Beautiful kit of a beautiful car, although I agree they did look a 'tad squashed'. Fabulous to drive, too, by all accounts. I'll never get the opportunity!

There's no need to ask why! Like there's no need to ask why these cars are worth many millions... Beautiful.

Hamilton walks on water, and in my eyes can do no wrong - but then again, you're dam' right, Bill!

From the book: They were both just curious and a little wary. ‘Can you see that! Dragons, they’re Dragons!’ ‘I see it but I can’t believe it’ ‘Look at the little one, isn’t it cute!’ ‘Uh-oh, it’s coming to take a look...’ Hendryx was indeed edging nearer, curiosity having got the better of what little fear she had. She wanted to know all about this flying thing, and be friends with it. Atavar tried to stop her. ‘Hendryx - NO!’ But she was not listening. And as she closed on the thing, it began to back away, then turned and shot off into the night, at a speed she could not hope to follow. ‘Base to Foxtrot Bravo. We have your infrared transmission. Any ideas? Over’ ‘Foxtrot Bravo to base. It sure ain’t the Russians!’ This raised a general laugh, although the Cold War had been over for years. ‘We don’t know what they are but they look like Dragons to us. Over.’ ‘Base to Foxtrot Bravo. We’ll track them on radar, do not, repeat not, engage. Return to base. Over.’ ‘Foxtrot Bravo to base - No way am I going to shoot one of these beauties. We’re coming home. Over and out.’ Love your artwork. Cheers, -Don.

It does look a bit like a DB5, only the slightly stubby bonnet spoils it slightly. Of course the sound it made would give the game away?

Thanks Mike and Matthijs. Good looking car, to my mind it's crying out for a V6 Lancia engine, or at a pinch the Alfa twincam four. It deserved better than to be saddled with that old pushrod ioe BMC 'B' series engine.

I did this some years back for a boo I did this a few years ago for a book I was writing. I liked yours, similar to my wife's style. Thanks TJ.

Two miles or less? Further than Concorde, on one catastrophic occasion.

Happiness is a pair of 45DCOEs on open trumpets and a 300 degree cam. Works on a 2002 BMW anyway!

I had no idea the old Islander was still flying commercially. That's cheered me up, happy memories. The view through the gaps in the doors was nearly as good as through the side windows! Thanks Leslie.

I know exactly what it is and that;s why I don't like it, despite the superficial attraction. Good subject though, Matthijs. Cheers, -Don.
