  1. Not bad! - I get what you mean. They do jar the eye - and it goes downhill from there for me. It doesn't look as if the bonnet louvres are open for air to pass through. And are they exhaust tailpipes I can see in front of the rear wheels?
  2. Ugh. Needs to lose 18 inches from between the cockpit and the rear wheels, and get the bottoms of the pontoon front fenders parallel with the ground, And what is going on with those weird 'scoops' in front of the rear fenders?
  3. Very nice. I wish our local car rental firm offered these instead of the usual Euroboxes!
  4. So between us we liked all of it and none of it!?
  5. For the first half hour of 'From Dusk Till Dawn' my wife and I thought this was the worst we had seen - then the penny dropped and we got the message that it was a spoof, and ended up really enjoying it!
  6. Well, you live and learn. Thanks Michael!
  7. Well it couldn't be anything but a Lanc, despite the obvious inaccuracies! Not bad for $6, shame your mate paid way over that! Well done.
  8. There's something of the Corvair in there, at least from this angle. I like it a lot but I agree about the wires - they look wrong on most cars from the fifties and sixties onwards, except some sports cars.
  9. He was indeed the greatest Bond, but also great in other roles. RIP indeed.
  10. Hi Carl Not sure what 'hauled my suspension off and dumped them' means but it doesn't sound very friendly. As a cat lover (we have 4, just spent £150 on them at the vet!) I know i'm not too keen on them being fed by neighbours but wtf, they're cats and can go where they like! I wouldn't fall out with them about it though. We had one neighbour years ago threaten to poison them - that did make me angry! Maybe stop feeding them and if you think they are mistreated call the US version of the RSPCA? Cheers, -Don.
  11. Lovely model. I'm fascinated by the 'stagger' of the seats, I've only ever seen this on the pre-war racers when the regulations demanded that a riding mechanic be carried, all this unfortunate individual had to to was be very small and keep out of the way of the driver's elbows! The passenger in this Packard looks to have plenty more room but still well out of the drivers way and sight line.
  12. Some of us didn't need a clue on this one!? I enjoy both the quizzes whether I get the answer or not - and often learn more when I don't!
  13. Thanks Gary I didn't think you were daft! I simply had no idea that these events were held in Argentina, I only knew of the original Italian ones. After all the great Argentine Grand Prix drivers in the fifties such as Fangio were thought of as honorary Italians. and there is a great tradition of road races in the Argentine. Cheers, -Don.!
  14. Nice combo, but what has the Argentine got to do with the Mille Miglia? Last time I looked, the original race series that ran to 1955 was in based in Italy, as were the subsequent commemorative runs. Brescia - Padua - Roma - Brescia. Please enlighten me!
  15. Yeah. I almost reported the post to the mods to avoid this fall-out, but decided that it would be more respectful to reply to Thomas himself. I'm sure no harm was intended. I didn't actually mention racism, btw but the original comment did come over as racist, however innocently it was meant. Back to dissing Gas Monkey...
  16. Very nice! I'm not familiar with these cars, but it is a really good looking design, thanks for posting.
  17. Thank Joe! -Don.
  18. I always wondered when the monster first appeared in the film - someone shouted 'Godzilla!' How did they know it's name?
  19. A car with no redeeming features - overbodied, underpowered and fit only for posing on the promonade, As I mentioned to Michael, the Vintage Sports Car Club was formed in the thirties for enthusiasts of proper motor cars such as Bentleys, Lagondas and Bugattis as a reaction to cars like this. In no way related to the fabulous 1934 Triumph Dolomite, a twin-cam 8 cylinder near copy of an 8C Alfa Romeo:
  20. Great modelling! Here's what she became...
  21. Hi Russel To my twisted mind that means you can do the interior and engine in the way you think best and nobody will have any evidence to dispute it!? It'll still be a great model and if it captures the spirit of the 1:1 then job done! Cheers, -Don.
  22. Hi Aaron I'm glad this got bumped recently as it is lovely and I missed it first time around! My immediate thought to your reservations about the front bumper was - why not lose it completely and smooth out the front just as you've done at the rear? Either way it looks great. -Don.
