  1. Every update it just keeps getting better and better Steve. Really glad to this one progressing again.
  2. What did you use for the clear coat on this? This is one heckuva build so far Jeff.
  3. No problem Craig. Hang around these fellas here and you'll definitely notice a change for the better in your modeling in a few months. It worked for me. Wait and see. Pearl White is on and I'm still waiting on it to gas out. The flames on the sides of the car are complete and I managed to fill in the blank space at the front of the door by trimming the decals and inserting the missing pieces. Just gotta let this finish curing out, apply that Demon II decal up front and then we're off to the final clear coat and polishing. So far...………..so good.
  4. My grandparents had a car like this waaaaaaaaaaay back when. It was brown and I think it had a 351W in it. I'll be tagging along on this one Dwayne.
  5. WOOOOoooooow!!! Dude that's friggin NICE!! Great transformation.
  6. Man...…………..this thing is RIGHT ON!!! I really don't think you could make it any more realistic.
  7. This one came out of nowhere but I'll be working on this one for a friend of my son. His name is Jonathan and he received this for a birthday gift a few months ago. He's been over to our house a time or two and has seen the stuff that I build and seemed interested. He's asked me kindly to build this one for him so while the Willy's is in and out of the paint booth and being polished here and there I'll have this to work on. Here's the kit:
  8. Thanks Cody. Hopefully I can make some good progress on this over the long weekend.
  9. For some unknown reason I couldn't edit my own post. What I wanted to say was that I'm going to clear the whole thing to seal all the decals on once in place and then mask off and paint the White Pearl on the front clip and clear that. Been trying for 20 minutes to edit that into the original post and it kept kicking me out.
  10. I hear you on the tablet thing for sure. I tried posting to forums on mine and it's very frustrating. I'll be going with the original Street Demons theme from 1983 with a slight twist on the colors. I'll be going with Testor's Icy Blue for the blue part and then a Pearl White for the front half. It took me around two days to get rid of all the mold lines and ejector pin marks from it. But......here it is in the primer stage.... and then with the paint job and the door flame decals on. More to come.........
  11. Get the cameras rollin' boyz. This one's gonna be a showstopper!
  12. I am definitely diggin' this build. Good ideas all the way around. Are those carburetors from FAB Resinworks?
  13. I can't get over the job on the bumpers. This build is definitely gonna be one for the books.
  14. That's good! We're on the same page then. lol
  15. Good lookin base coat Pat!!
  16. Thanks Craig! Man you shouldn't be so hard on yourself dude. Plan your job out and then get the things you need to accomplish it. Your Willy's looked good to me but if you want to fine tune things a little I think you'll be more than capable of doing it. Our capabilities are always limited if we start off thinking negatively about our potential. You've got this bro. Look at magazines, web pages and whatever other resources you can get your hands on to give you some real world applications. As far as imagination goes, just think of what you'd like in a car if you were to own one and then make 'er happen. Just my
  17. Thanks Jeremy. The steering wheel came with the kit. I just had to get online to get some ideas in regards to painting and detailing it. 'Preciate the good word there Codi.
  18. I haven't looked in on this build in a loooooong time but I should've been all along. I really like the air filter element idea and may be going to Joanne's myself to cash in on it. Very good progress. Looks like I'll be following along on this one so I can remember to check the progress more.
  19. Looks like everything is all lined up at the front alright. Lookin' good D.W.
  20. Welcome aboard Lukasz! Looking forward to seeing what you do with this kit.
  21. I found that out the hard way in regards to tape over painted finishes (even with the Tamiya Tape) with acrylics on aircraft builds and then again with enamels and lacquers on automotive builds but hey, it's a constant learning process right? Engine looks good but I'll say that I usually stick all my wires with the boots installed into the distributor first and then start the routing process. Boots aint that hard to fabricate or install either. I start here with the wire: Then I either get a piece of telephone jack wire or even better yet would be a same diameter piece of black wire so it's already the right color: Cut to two different lengths, one for the distributor side and the other for the spark plug side and insert a toothpick through to swell the "boot" to fit onto the spark plug wire: and slide both onto the wire and "wallah" you've got yourself one assembled spark plug wire. Either paint the boots to your liking or choose the correct diameter colored wire for them.
  22. Shuuuweeeet! Beautiful paint job on this one.
