  1. First off, lemme thank everyone who followed along and /or commented. You guys are da bee's knees.!! Started out with these two kits and a Pro Street vision between the two. I've always had an eye for Revell's "Street Demons" series back in 1983 but I don't really care for the gasser look that a few of 'em had...……..this one in particular. In staying with the theme I set out to change things up a little bit in the way of a slight color change up, stance, powertrain and interior. Powertrain : Came from the Revell 1968 Hemi Dart kit with upgrades to the ignition, fuel and throttle linkage systems. Wheels: From Future Attractions. I had my machine shop at work cut the rear wheels in half due to the fact that they were just too dang wide to use with the tires I had. Paint: Testors Icy Blue Lacquer, Testors White Lightning Lacquer and Testors Wet Look Clear all decanted and shot through an airbrush. Decals: Speedway Decals Interior Shots: Additional engine shots:
  2. Now in Under Glass section. Thank you for all who followed and/ or commented. You guys are awesome.
  3. I should've known. Looks very good.
  4. That interior trim looks fantastic Dann! Wow dude!! What did you use for that?
  5. I'll say!!! I've used the heck out of that stuff and have never gotten it to lay down that smooth.
  6. Good lookin' Road Runner Ken!
  7. I still have my very first auto build ever back in 1981. A Monogram 69 Z/28 Camaro. I decided to convert it into an SS396 this past year but managed to keep almost all of the original parts in the build to include part of the grille which I graphed in a section and added an SS emblem to. I sourced a couple of parts from an acquired parts kit in order to replace parts missing over the years and to replace the hood which I cut a hole in as a kid. Before After:
  8. Ahhh yes! The old Jo-Han Comet. Love it man.
  9. Good job on that Impala Johhny. I was wondering about how you did that box as well.
  10. That looks good from the chair I'm sittin' in. Good details and paint. I'm not used to seeing builds with the windows up but it adds a good touch to the smooth lines of the car.
  11. LOL! Looking forward to more progress JC!
  12. I've got one of the Maverick kits and obtained a Grabber hood for it. I do like that resin grille/ bumper from Greg Wann. May have to pick one of those up.
  13. I received this kit here for free from a friend here on this forum and all I did was mention that I didn't know these were in kit form and that I worked on them when they were new in a Pontiac Dealership in Carrolton, Texas. Thank you for your very generous gift BigTallDad!! You da man!!!
  14. Been wanting to pick one of these up for a loooooooooong time. Great score.
  15. After discussing with Jonathan about the wheels and tires we both decided that it would be better off with something of a different style. I found a spare set of tires from a Revell T/A Challenger kit and a spare set of Rallye wheels from a Camaro kit that I had in stock to help out here: Yeah...…………..that's more like it.
  16. Thanks Dave. He was sort of leaving that up to me but I'm trying to include him in on the options. Like me, he didn't like the kit wheels or tires but I had alternatives for both that he liked. Same for the powerplant. I've done everything but color which I need to ask him about. And yes I can tell it's your favorite kit! Got any of your build photos on this one?
  17. Thanks Jeff. Putting the finishing touches on it. The next update will be in the "Under Glass" section as I'm pretty dang close now. Just waiting on the hood to dry so I can cal it and then clear it. I sanded the sides of the headlights where they were adjoined to the sprue and shot some Molotow through the AB on them. After I let 'em sit a couple of days I'll clear them with Spaz Stix Ultimate Clear so they can be handled and I'll be out of parts to install.
  18. Any progress on this one?
  19. Very shiny and very cool build!!! Despite some of the kit shortcomings this is a spectacular outcome.
  20. Missed this one when you were building it John. Very unique and interesting build.
  21. Progress on this one is looking good James. Real good.
  22. Dude..................this is unreal!!
  23. Thanks Lloyd. I should have this one wrapped up within the next week hopefully.
  24. Didn't think about that part. You can add me in on that too.
  25. Every update it just keeps getting better and better Steve. Really glad to this one progressing again.
