  1. I've got the tub all trimmed up and the two pieces glued together. I had to sand a lot of material from the bottom to get it to fit right but so far so good. Here's a few shots with the clear nose piece test fitted. It looks like it's gonna be A-OK.
  2. Started on the battery cables this morning by adhering the terminal ends to the cable. Will be routing the cables first and then painting after all the bends are finished.
  3. Judging by the looks of some of your builds it outta do well. Got any pictures?
  4. LOL! Thanks Ed, Dan and Kevin! I'll be attaching the battery cables in the next couple of days.
  5. Man that thing sure is beautyfull Rich!!!! That thing is all but real I'll tell ya.
  6. Thanks Lloyd and Kevin. Is that ProModeler then one with the 4 engine version? More test fitting today with the Aires interior detail set. Looks like it's going to fit good at the firewall/ fuselage joint. Will have to see how everything is going to behave with the glass installed .......... This is a fairly well complimented set and I'm looking forward to working with it:
  7. Freekin cool!! And he busts out with a big 32nd scale kit for this one! Bring it man!
  8. Thanks Dan and Richard. Got the battery painted and detailed today. Gotta work on those cables and terminal ends maybe late tonight or tomorrow morning.
  9. I think I’m going to test fit this kit together first to see how it’s supposed to go together and then install my resin goodies here and there. I figure it’ll give me a slight edge when things aren’t going together so smoothly when installing the resin pieces. Painting this sucker on the bottom will be a unique experience for me as I’m used to painting my exteriors with no landing gear installed. Judging by the fit of the fuselage halves together and the wing to fuselage joint I’d say it might be a slight bit easier of a kit than I’d originally thought.
  10. I picked one of these up as well just so I could have some of the odds and ends out of it. (I've actually had all these items to include both kits now for several months to be ready for the finish up of my '54 Chevy) and a set of these:
  11. Lot's of little parts in this one. I've always had a respect for anybody that can take on a bike kit so I'll be looking forward to how this one shapes up.
  12. It's been a long while since I've done anything aviation related so it's been really difficult to decide on what I'm going to do for an ice breaker for the last few months. I bounced back and forth from Ta-152 to an Fw190 D series to a 190 A series to finally .........this: A Hase offering of the 234: I bought two of these because every time I start hackin' on a build for detail add ons like cockpits or engine displays or anything like that I have inherent problem of messing something up along the way to the point of being unrepairable so I just head it off at the pass with a spare parts kit. I don't know when exactly I'll get started on this bad boy as I still have to finish up my '54 Chevy Panel Wagon that I'm building in the Auto section here but I decided to post a Threadlocker anyway. Here are the upgrades: with a masking set: and reference material:
  13. Thank you Dan. It's at this point where I tend to want to rush things to get it done but am resisting that urge and instead just trudging along taking my time. I've probably got another two months on this bad boy still. I started on the battery today. I robbed an Delco battery out of my AMT '51 Chevy kit and I followed suit with a lot of builders around here and cut the molded in battery terminals from the battery and sanded the top smooth at their previous locations. After that I drilled holes out where they were and grabbed a diode that I bought at Radio Shack with the perfect .028" diameter rod to be used as steel battery posts: Inserted through the holes in the bottom of the battery they look something like this: I still have a little clean up to do on the terminal ends but here's what it all will look like with it all together: I'm ALOT happier with this than the standard molded battery terminals. Next up will be the battery cables................
  14. First off , your build is looking fabulous so far John. Secondly, I haven't heard that saying in years!! My dad used to say that to me and my brother all the time growing up. Man you just took me back about 40 years with that one. lol
  15. Still lookin' good there Kevin!! I really like that dash pad man.
  16. I had that effect going on with the front wheels on my truck. It was always a pain the rear to constantly wash or wipe the front wheels off due to all the brake lining dust from the standard pads. A set of ceramic pads later and I never had to worry about it again. Nice body work BTW.
  17. Thanks fellas! I'll be working on the interior color next.
  18. I remember reading about these 1:1 cars somewhere. I always found it interesting that ol' Willy managed to turn out a few cars as well. Good lookin' build with some great weathering effects there Chuck!
  19. Really lookin' good here John. lol. I can't get this car out of my head because it's so dang crazy! I do have a question for you though. What's your process for dealing with those two piece rear tires? I used a set of these and did the very best I could on 'em but I think I could improve on the next set. Just curious.
  20. Well after 3 attempts and strippings of the door panels I think I've finally got 'em down. I finished up the BMF job this morning on them.
  21. That's gotta be a good feelin' to make all of that planning work! Outstanding progress!
  22. Neato man! That stance is gonna be killer.
