Great color, shine and details really bring this puppy to life Jeremy! Good stuff man!
  3. Headin' over there now..................
  4. Excellent build and superb paint work!
  5. A shot of the rear bumper with the license plate installed. I'll be attaching a couple of PE mounting screw heads to this now that I'm looking at it in photos to add a little more "flavor" to the plate. and here's a shot of the front bumper after Alclad application. Still gotta fill in the park lamps with amber but I'm happy with the results so far. I also got the windshield, vent windows and steering wheel installed. An overall progress shot:
  6. It all comes with time Michelle. Hang in there , be patient with yourself, keep posting your work and builds here and you'll find yourself getting better and better in no time. A good beginning point is to start a WIP thread. Ask questions , post plenty of pics and the help will be there.....guaranteed. It happened to me when I started modeling on a more serious scale (no pun intended) about 4-1/2 years ago when I joined my first forum. Within 6 months the magic started happening. I was blown away by all of the skills that I had picked up and my builds started taking on a more polished and more real looking result. Just keep posting in here and watch what happens.
  7. Lookin' good! Can't wait to see the polishing outcome.
  8. That's not bad. Great subject and good color choice.
  9. There's Pete! Didn't know you were here too! Great to see you.
  10. Thanks Carl. I may have an item or two more up my sleeve yet. lol Ok. I've got the headlamps installed and am now working on the grille. I really like the custom one that is shown on the box top but it needs a lot of clean up which means...........well......stripping all the chrome off, cleaning up the mess and .............you know..........applying Alclad in place of the kit chrome. The stock grille doesn't look as good in my opinion but doesn't require even half of the work. Looks like I'd better get the Easy Off oven cleaner ready for the chrome stripping process........... With the stock grille and with the custom grille: (Yeah.........we'll go with this one!)
  11. If the engine sits on the K member anyway the oil pan won't be any closer to the ground than it would be already. Or you could make a modified K member that would drop the engine below the hood line. Again, the oil pan to ground clearance won't be affected. Something along these lines maybe? This is definitely more complex than a scale representation would be but you get the picture. Lookin' forward to seeing more progress.
  12. Any chance of putting a small spacer between the K member and the frame to lower the engine slightly below the hood line without too much height at the front of the car?
  13. Thanks Rich. One day I hope to be able to tackle the worn paint jobs like yours.
  14. This crate looks really vicious Tyrone! Nice aggressive look along with some awesome paint.
  15. Thanks Jeremy. This morning I worked on a couple more interior items. I was looking for something to put at the R/H rear corner of the flooring to hide the light that can be seen between the R/H rear wheel opening and the floor and my eyes cast upon a 1/43rd scale Great Garages kit that I've got in my stash. There's a tool box in there that in 43rd scale is supposed to be a parts trunk but in 25th scale it works perfectly as an "on-the-go" toolbox. I primed it and painted it yesterday and detailed the handle and hinges. This morning I applied a couple of decals to give it a more "true mechanics toolbox" look and installed it on the floor. then I applied a "Chevrolet/ Bowtie" banner on the wall just behind the couch.
  16. There's nothing ordinary about this car Eric! Really turned out a goody here!
  17. Nice work all around on this one Tom! I really like that fuel distribution block and plumbing.
  18. Looks good Jeremy. Good lookin' paint and I like that tint strip across the top of the windshield.
  19. Great ideas going on here. I ended up going to HL and buying one of these kits because of this thread. lol
  20. What can a guy say to this that hasn't been said already?? I still, to this day, cannot get over the results you get from Alclad.
  21. Paint looks great!
  22. Great work so far Pat. I really like using Lego's in my projects as well. Shop looks killer too!!!!
  23. This is just crazy good Rich!! Good grief!!!!!!!!!!! Just off the map man.
