She's a real beauty so far Tim. Hate to hear your luck with the Spaz Stix so far but I think your paint work made up the difference man. -
Thanks Jim! I'll tell you guys, I've spent the last couple of days ironing the hood and body blemishes out from all of the ejector pin marks and sink holes. There are tons of these things present all over the body and hood!! This kit is not one of Revell's more stellar kits but the molds are pretty old so I have to remember that when I want to complain. I removed the badging from the front of the hood and have completed all the body work on it. My next two plans for it are to cut out the rectangle in the hood for the carburetors and now that the bottom of the hood is all nice and smooth I'll probably shoot some chrome Spaz Stix on the undersides for a show truck style effect. Hopefully it'll turn out good enough to give a nice reflection of the engine off of it after I polish it up. I've re-worked the newer firewall/ forward cab area both inside and out starting with the removal of , you guessed it, ejector pin marks on the cab side of the floor area. I moved next to the firewall and removed all of the molded in wiring and component detail so I could install separate components and use real wire instead of the molded detail for a more realistic approach under the hood. I've still gotta fabricate brake and clutch pedals to make all that stuff work underneath. Firewall with molded detail: and the newer piece without the molded detail:

Looks like a really clean paint job and detail work there Ludwig!

Nice! Got a pic of the motor? -
That'll never happen right there at least with the current materials and technology. Those cars are packed with stuff like bracing and safety as well as creature comfort components from one end of that car to the other. While I'm not a fan of the layout of the interior and the lack of blind spot vision(or the fact that you have to remove the dang windshield to get the HVAC case out!!) in these cars I do see a reason for their size and subsequent weight. I had an 89 Mustang for years (and I know this is like comparing apples to oranges but stick with me here on the point) that clocked in at 3133 lbs. It was light , small and after I got done with it , fast. If I ever were to have gotten into a real crash with that thing it would have been over. The newer Camaros and Mustangs are bigger cars and alot heavier to allow for surviving the same crash that the older ones would not have. I do wish there were better materials and better technology available to where they didn't have to be so big but thats the way it is for now.

Heya Russell. The best thing I can tell you is to grab a kit, stick to the basics to start off with , browse the forums and look at how folks are building and don't be shy about asking questions. Looking forward to seeing some builds bud! -
