  1. Canopy masks! They do a model good. I wouldn't even dream of doing things the old fashioned way any more. http://www.bnamodelworld.com/montex/mon-k48149
  2. Turnin' out good Ray! Man these Accurate Miniatures kits are da bomb for detail aint they?
  3. I here to tell you that my pace has been a little slow since my return Dan. I should have something worth posting tomorrow morning. We'll see.
  4. That BMF job looks good there Kevin. The trick I was told from here for washes in the automotive realm is to go with a wash that's the color of the paint you are using that's a couple of shades darker. Yeah , like you, I figured that stuff out real quick on the use of washes in the sense that we are used to.
  5. You're really putting some top notch work together for this rig there Dan!!! It's all gonna look great in the end pal.
  6. Nicely done! Made it look like it came that way out of the box dude.
  7. Nice job on the leaf spring re-position Fred. Glued to the set man....glued to it!!
  8. ...and I was just jokin'!!!!
  9. The next thing I'm expecting is a half eaten McDonald's Happy Meal laying in the front seat! Jeez dude! You're killin' me with the detail here!
  10. I like the use of the electric fan Tim and the grill is looking good in there as well.
  11. Tom: Thanks dude! The scoop had to "grow on me" but I'll be using that with no reservations now. Tim: Thank you as well! It's gonna take me a while because I'm building this and my DB605 engine along side of it so I can have something built aircraft wise. Carl: I appreciate your comments. Man that's for sure on the late night bench time! lol . I'll be gone with my family for 3 days this weekend so there won't be any progress but I'll get that rest you're talking about . Will resume on Monday. Kevin: Go for it bud! Thanks for the encouragement on the slicks. I was worried about those initially but glued 'em together with Permatex gasket sealer/ adhesive so the seams wouldn't be as noticeable.
  12. So far you're lookin' good Kevin!! I'm a big acrylic paint fan as well and enjoy the niceties they have to offer.
  13. Man this is intense! 1/72nd scale? I'm in!
  14. Lol!! I'm also building this bad boy here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=100574&hl=
  15. LOL! I'm attempting to build a Revell 56 Ford F-100 with a 429 Boss here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99722&page=1
  16. An Accurate Miniatures kit. This should be good. Let er rip Ray!
  17. Well there for a while I was stuck at how I was going to handle the coolant reservoir retaining straps but ended up figuring it out. About a month ago I ordered an already started/ spare parts boxing of a 56 Ford F-100 for my WIP over in the truck section. Whoever the seller was he threw all kinds of stuff in that box that didn't pertain to any part of the F-100 build. One thing he threw in was a half cut up set of 1/16 light gray racing stripes which I promptly threw away right along with 1/2 of the junk (and it was junk!--stuff like a 1/12 or 1/16 cut up / half build exhaust from something, 1/12 scale wheels, etc). A couple of days later I had an idea flash through my head. What if I cut the decals the width of the straps and used those?? Well that's exactly what I did. My small trash can was sitting there right beside the bench so I went through it and found the decals. I cut 'em the width of the straps and after a couple of coats of Microsol I had a winning result. I have painted up and installed a lot of the accessory drive items at the back of the engine and will start on the weathering process once I have a few more items on here. Right now here she sits and clean and purdy ( complete with my usual dust and plastic shavings that I can never seem to take care of before a photo shoot!)
  18. The finish you end up with is among the best I've seen Tim! Lookin' good pal!
  19. I like that correct matte look of the stripes Kevin.
  20. LOL! Their 1/48 Fw190 kits are a bit fiddly and tricky to build but yield totally awesome results in the end. I have an A8/R2 and another D-9 in the stash I may re-visit.
  21. Thanks Dan! Man am I feelin' it now! I told you I would.....................
