  1. You're gonna like what you see if you do that. I'm all in for a good 'ol Revellogram build but these other companies have really got their act together. I will say that Revell as of late has been upping the ante.
  2. You'll get there Jamie. We'll be leavin' a light on for ya! . Good luck on your job.
  3. Thanks Ira, Dan and Stray. I've made some progress this morning but nothing worth taking pics of yet. Still a lot of test fit and planning out. I do have the gloss black applied to the rear wheels this morning and will be waiting for that to dry, a few more details painted on the motor and things of that nature. Hopefully , benchtime is gonna be kind to me this week. lol
  4. Neeeeto!!! This just rocks Richard!! Looks like your plans are falling together on this one!
  5. Wayne: I've never built a Cyber Hobby kit yet but have heard some good things about it. I've been mostly prone to the F-K series of 109 but as of late I've been eyeing the earlier birds and have recently acquired a C model. I'd be very interested in following this build whenever you get around to it. Jeremy: I think I've built that kit before. As I remember it was a pretty straight forward build that even has the option to show off some engine detail and a panel that can be opened up on the port side below the cockpit. In any case, cool score dude. Kevin: Umm I dunno bout dat! lol Will be watching for that "4" to be built.
  6. Man that really set that thing off Dan!!!! Nice work and beautiful rig so far!
  7. Thanks Carl and Dan. Well I chucked up my 12mm deep socket again, mounted the front tires on it one by one and spun 'em up a piece of sandpaper to give the tread that worn look like I did on my Challenger build. Here's the Challenger tire mounted up on the drill: After that I shot a coat of dull coat on the sidewalls of the tires and mounted my wheels on 'em: Here's the tires and wheels for this build after all the sandpaper and dull coating:( the funny thing is that you can't see any of the coverage problems on the wheels with the naked eye. If I were going off of these pics I'd start over on the wheels. Believe me, they look a helluva lot better in person) Then I started back on the motor a little. I sanded the distributor cap down a little on the top and started drilling holes to put the ignition wires in to: Hopefully I get a good bench session tomorrow.
  8. Jeez Steve! Blacks a hard color to get right and it looks like you've done wonders on this paint work!!! Looks great!!
  9. I think I just found a new partner in the modeling business. This is my first time using Alclad. I may put another coat on this but already this stuff has got my vote just for the fact that it goes on so smoothly.
  10. LOL! Been there, done that! More on that later on the side.
  11. It used to happen to me all the time. I've managed to hold my horses on most things because my "froggyness" has gotten me in trouble more than I care to admit but I still flub up from time to time with that. But hey, that's modeling. lol
  12. Thanks Carl! I'm looking forward to that! I touched up some areas that needed paint and installed the intake manifold today. I've installed many an intake in the real world and use sealer on the "china walls" of the intake so I did the same here.....using automotive sealer on the "china walls". lol I stripped the chrome plating off of the carburetors and test fitted those on top as well. A small amount of clean up and these will get the paint treatment. I just need to find a pic regarding throttle linkages and return springs now. This is a little cleaner shot than I showed Wednesday being that I cleaned the paint up a little.
  13. You're bringing back memories of when I built something similar to this when I was a kid. I think it was the U.S.S. Constitution. What's the rigging gonna be like for this great build Paul? Good save on the display case glass!! That acrylic stuff aint cheap!
  14. Well in that case Eduard puts out a decent 1/48 boxing of the P-39. I don't know if it's a re box of another kit but I'll tell ya this:Eduard makes a slew of AM goodies for it to include masks........... Ultimately, of course, it's your decision as to what kit you get. I'm merely offering my
  15. I read about that yesterday. That sucks....a lot.
  16. I have only built one P-39 and it was the old 1/48th Monogram one from way back. I can point you in a direction and you can do some research and there are others here that may know more about these small kits in the way of kit quality. Here are some available from Squadron. In addition to these I know that Academy issues one as well. Hope this helps buddy! http://www.squadron.com/1-72-Scale-Model-Prop-Plane-Kits-s/2392.htm?searching=Y&sort=3&cat=2392&show=18&page=1&search=%20airacobra
  17. What kind of floatplane? A Rufe? An Arado 196??? Kingfisher???
  18. Holeee shmokes!!!! That interior would give me headaches for days trying to replicate that!!
  19. I've got three words for you here Ira--Go....for.....it!!!!!
