  1. Man! Now that's a color combo right there! Paint finish looks good from where I'm sittin'!!! I know those letters on the tires are bordered. What method did you use to paint those?
  2. Thaaaaat's right! You're building a curbside model. I forgot. In that case what's the wheel/tire arrangement?
  3. How crazy are you going with the power plant and all?
  4. That's definitely a bright blue Kevin! What color is that?
  5. 1.) I like what you're doing with this build. 2.) Farmers Branch........I used to work just down the road at Vista Ridge Pontiac (Now Classic Buick /GMC) and used to frequent Phil's Hobbies (and I think that was in Farmers Branch) all the time. I found out that Phil closed the shop down some time ago but is on Ebay now.
  6. No real big updates for today. I notched out the truck bed on the bottom a little bit (without making a butchered mess out of it) so that it would sit down on the frame on all four corners, removed the transmission crossmember from the build frame and started cleaning up the frame where I cut out the crossmember. I cut the crossmember from the parts donor kit and will clean it up and install it about 1/2" towards the rear of the frame to line up with the 429's four speed transmission mount. I'll see if I can capture it all in pics at the same time I have another update so as not to waste another slot on my PB account.
  7. Jeremy: Yessir it's mine! I had that car for almost ten years and had a lot of fun with that car. Kevin and Danno: Thanks fellas!!
  8. Thanks Dan!! I've got a couple more things I want to do back here to make everything look....well......proper.
  9. Hey man that looks nice!! Love the paint finish!!
  10. Now that sucks! As far as windshield cracks and dings go.....I freekin' gave up. I work near a refinery and with all the gravel all the fleet trucks have in their tires it's a joke to think that any windshield would survive unscathed for more than a months worth of trips by there.
  11. I just bought a bottle of highly polished aluminum alclad and can't wait to try it out.
  12. As stated at "the other place" I really like the use of the spring retaining hardware. Where do you get that stuff at????
  13. Man you're really nailin' this thing. Suspension mods are noted............
  14. Well...........................................I'm watchin'!
  15. Thanks Ken! It doesn't look like a whole lot right now just because it's mostly in the planning phase but sooner or later the build will take off.
  16. I've got one of these in the stash and am looking forward to building it. You're doing a great job so far with this there Mark!
  17. Niiiiiiice!!!! Great work JC. Your patience and hard work definitely paid off here!!
  18. Thanks Carl. Yeah I plan on allowing the doors to open but before I do that I've got a lot of clean up to do on the doors and body. As of now I had to ditch the idea of the trailing arm suspension just because it just wouldn't work here. What I did do instead was, from my way of thinking, a little unorthodox in the fact that I removed the original spring perches from the build frame and graphed the ones from the spare parts frame onto the one from the build. I know it's not correct but I'll be able to lower the rear suspension down about 1/4" to put the wheel/ tire assy where I want it and have about 1/8" tweeking room. I've still got to brace them up a little better with some spare resin stock that I've got to clean up the appearance and have to trim up some on the truck bed so that it sits all the way down on the frame in the front (about 1/32"-1/16") but here's the current progress so I can at least show that I'm building on this. and a little closer:
  19. Whoa ho ho!!! Man whadda build!!!! Mr. you know just what your doing in the "used and abused" arena. Way to go Carlos! Way to go...........
  20. Thanks Bill and thanks for contributing to my WIP. I'll have an opportunity to take care of that antenna this weekend.
  21. Shuuuuwwweeeet!!
  22. Now that is just cool to have a blast from the past like that even in pictures Kevin. If you ever want a trip down memory lane there has been a recent re-release of it.
  23. Welcome aboard Frank!
