  1. I'm tryin' to Carl!! Where in the hek did I leave them sonsabeeches this time?????????????? Man thanks Richard! I still can't get over that diorama you're building.......sheesh!!!
  2. Thanks Dave and Jeff. I really appreciate the comments fellas. Hopefully I'll get past this hiccup and get some real progress done this weekend.
  3. Dude this is red hot!!!
  4. Thanks Tom! You're right about the clamps. You know it happens to me every time in a build. I get near the end and get in a hurry and for whatever reason, forget stuff like this. I took a step backwards today and removed both heater hoses, made the clamps and will re-touch the hoses up with the black paint to make 'em look like rubber again. Actually I was trying to figure out how I was going to touch these things up with a brush "in-car" but now that they are out I'll shoot the two hoses with the AB to give them both a smooth look so there is a silver lining in the cloud. I've just gotta pull back on the reigns and slow down a little that's all. Thanks for looking folks, Joe
  5. I'm really looking forward to the paint job on this one Tim. You've definitely inspired me to use acrylics on my next build.
  6. Thanks Mike! LOL. As far as updates this morning, I installed the voltage regulator on the firewall with the circuitry and installed the heater hoses. I still have to work with the heater hoses in terms of touch up and "natural lay" but I've got 'em on there nonetheless. a little closer.... When I sit back and compare my mock up car to the car-to-finish I can't help but notice the contrast between what came from the box and what is here. A blank slate from the factory.....wow. At least half of what I added should have been there from Revell. Oh well ....shoulda , coulda , woulda.......... OOB firewall: upgraded firewall:
  7. That's great about the support for the cabin. I've thought about doing something like that where I live currently but my back yard is too small. I figure in a few years we'll be moving(hopefully) to a bigger plot and I'll be able to pull something off like this. Thanks for the details by the way!
  8. The word "precise" comes to mind here! That steering rack is amazing. Just looking forward to the next update!
  9. Note to all Monogram Challenger builders: If you need any parts............. please see Brodie or myself!!!! LOL LOL
  10. This'll be freekin' cool!! I can't wait to see this one being built for sure! I had to laugh (in a good way) about the statement you wrote above. I bought my fourth kit for this build today for the rear bumper..............................only!!! My original bumper is toast, the 1st replacement bumper I damaged myself when cutting it from the sprues and the second replacement bumper is pitted from the factory! (and it'll take forever for Revell to send me the replacement-which I'm still gonna pursue-and I would have been that much longer finishing this build). The third kit is the Revell Challenger kit # 85-4213 (which comes in mighty handy for this build with a few of the extra goodies) and the fourth I bought today at Michaels with a 40% off coupon in hand for a total of $12.98. When I initially read your post (I'm talking about the first sentence) I was going to tell you if you need any extra parts to let me know but.................I see you have that covered!!! lol
  11. I left 'em on the table when I left work work ! Dangit I knew I was forgetting something!!! Thanks Tim , Stray and Dan! The wires did take up a lot of time and was nerve racking!
  12. Well it aint leaps and bounds but after 35 grueling minutes I've got the windshield wiper motor and ballast resistor wired up. Carl, we're ready to crank this bad boy up. No charging system yet but it'll crank! lol and I don't have the complete pic of it yet but I installed the exhaust yesterday.
  13. Thanks for the build up photos there Patrick! One of these days hopefully within the year or so I'd like to have another go at mine. I just stole a set of tires out of it. The kit had two sets so it's not short a set. That cabin is awesome! Is that where you build at??? I would LOVE to have a separate little place like that to call mine........and my wife's. lol
  14. Lee and Tom: Thanks fellas! I hear what you're sayin' Tom. On one hand I'm going to be glad to have this one behind me and on the other I don't want it to end either! lol Fred: Epoxy on the seats................got it! I'll never go through that junk with the seats falling out again! Dan and Carl: Hopefully I can have some noteworthy progress this morning to have pics to post. I'm a little under the weather but still kickin'. I hear you on that Carl. Can't hear the starter turning over yet though because the ballast resistor aint hooked up yet.
  15. This has turned out very nice Tim and I loved watching every aspect of this build. Of particular note is the engine build up and the overall finish of this beautiful automobile. Top notch stuff bud!
  16. I like this kit. I started one about 20 years ago and lost it in a move and I do have another one now. Cool build. Got any other progress pics?
  17. Welcome back Stray. This looks to be a good build!
  18. I noticed that as well. There have been a couple of set backs with this build with the drivers seat coming loose being the most severe. Sheesh! Same stuff happens in the aircraft modeling world though. lol
  19. Dan: Thanks a mil man! If all goes well I'll see you there on the 25th of April! Fred: Thanks for the heads up on that. It's the military modeler in me! lol
  20. Wow! That looks cool!
  21. Tim: Thanks bud! Maybe I'll finish by the time you've finished your Cuda! lol Jim: Thank you too sir! I really understand about the delays. Life gets in the way sometimes for lengthy periods. Circumstances are different from person to person but I get it pal. Brodie: You know the stripes are something that I noticed but it honestly didn't "click" until you mentioned it! I'm at the point with this build that the current outcome wins out over the risk. In the future I'll be looking for a mask set that will allow me to paint the strips. Thanks for the support and encouragement you're giving. Don: I appreciate the comments and you aint a kiddin' about it being close. I have to pull back on the reigns to keep from rushing at this point. lol
  22. Well I made some decent progress today in the fact that I got the front clip all but finished (just a little touch up here and there), got the rear spoiler glossed for decals and got the rear valance glossed. I also installed the engine and transmission assy. This was a complete PIA due to trying to route the wiring harness into the firewall at the same time as the engine went in. I ended up dropping the engine onto the bench at one point because I thought I had the engine wedged in there good enough to turn the model over and reposition it into the motor mounts. It wasn't too far and found everything was ok. I've got it in there with the glue drying at the motor mounts and xmsn mount locations now. Here's a pic just after I installed the engine:(I've got a ways to go here with this I know , bear with me please) Then a pic of the front clip: and with it installed:
  23. Tupperware container! LOL. That interior looks like there was a lot of effor, patience and time put into it Steve. Wow!!! You really knocked it out of the park with that one.
  24. This is enough to make anybody wanna stay inside!!! Where do you paint at anyways?
  25. Carl: No problem pal and thanks! Tom: You are a model making machine though. lol . Yes it is amazing. It's funny that this thing started out to be a touch up. I was supposed to start my Bf109 build two months ago today for my Bf109 Group Build. The participants have to be scratching their heads about a Group Build host who................hasn't started building anything yet. But I am having fun with this build and it has spurred my interest in building another automotive subject.......hence these kits that I just bought two days ago!!!!!
