  1. It's looking better all the time. That chrome really brings the paint all out. Thank God for BMF!!! lol
  2. Tim: LOL . I'll be putting the finishing touches on the interior tomorrow and double checking to make sure I aint forgetting anything before putting the body on. .........fingers crossed! Don: Come on with it man!
  3. I hear you on that! Some of those add-ons get pretty pricey! lol
  4. Dan: Thanks man! I'm gettin' the jitters to get this one done alright! lol Tim: Thank you also there bud! I'll take that new president like.................................now! lol 'Preciate it Mike and Don!
  5. Those light blue paints will work for the washer fluid in the reservoir. Something else I found that works is to apply the blue over the bottle and then shoot a coat of clear with a couple of drops of white mixed in it to give the illusion of fluid inside the bottle instead of looking like painted on blue on the outside of the reservoir.
  6. Heya Tony! If you ever have that problem again with worries about too much weight on landing gear, you can always try metal landing gear available here: http://store.spruebrothers.com/category_s/1916.htm?searching=Y&sort=7&cat=1916&show=100&page=1&brand=Scale%20Aircraft%20Conversions
  7. Thanks James! I'll end up getting past the headlamp blues thankfully. I forgot to post this yesterday. This is what I started off with for outside rearview mirrors. When I say a lot of clean up...............I mean a lot of clean up. This morning I just worked on the final body prep for installation stuff. Headlining , which I elected not to go too crazy with. It's at this stage that I find myself being careful to not just throw it together. You guys know that point in a build to where you're close to the finish line and the anxiety starts ramping up to be done with it and see it finished. I find myself actually slowing way down at this part of the build to avoid an easy mistake or overlook something.
  8. Hang with it brutha Pat. Your persistence and patience is paying off.
  9. Thanks for the encouragement and I'll be takin' care of that problem with the lenses.
  10. ..............and it's gonna be another rockin' build here!!!!! I'm not much on the newer style wheels and tires but with the way you have this one set up it looks good.
  11. That interior looks verrry convincing Bill! I can see the flooring and like the embossing powder idea!
  12. Now I've been guilty of that a time or two! lol
  13. I wondered what the recipe was...
  14. Thanks Dan! Man I hope so................soon! lol
  15. I hear ya loud and clear Fred! I hate those stupid "dots" in the middle of the lenses! lol Thank you sir for the friendly input.
  16. Thanks Riley and Don! What was the process you used on your Cobra body Don? Well folks I figured it's update time no matter how small it is. I've been working on things like the side marker lights and BMF out tha ying yang , outside rear view mirrors, fuel cap , etc. You know , the stuff that eats up the most time and shows very little progress in the overall build? Yeah ....that stuff! After much deliberation and self debate I have opted to start over with the front grill/ valance assy. There was lots of trimming and body work that needed to be done to be able to make this whole piece presentable in the fit category. Its actually less work to just start over with the whole piece than to re-work the existing one. The new piece after clean up: I put a lot of work into the outside rearview mirrors in the way of clean up. Good grief the flash on these things was terrible!!! I had to use mirrors from two different Monogram kits. One mirror in each kit had a big ejector pin mark in the middle of the mirror. I also drilled a hole in the bottom of each mirror to be able to pin them into place. I was going to spray a gloss clear over them but opted for the self leveling feature of Future floor polish. It glossed beautifully (thank God!). The fuel cap is the original part that's been cleaned up, touched up and the center painted. I ended up doing the center twice due to too much removal of black paint on the "FUEL" lettering yesterday. It's not much but I'm making progress...................
  17. Can't beat it with a stick Dan! I like the fact that you took a lesser known rig are making a striking work of it. Looking good all the way around on this build pal!
  18. I've got a soft spot for B-25's and this is a good representation of one. Nice job Tony!
  19. Thanks Jim and Dan! I appreciate the vote of confidence Jim. Dan I hope to have some updates for tomorrow.
  20. Great lookin' build Tim! Definitely a show winner!
  21. Dangit Jim! This build is just leading the way in my book. Everything is there in terms of talent and skill dude! What did you use for hose clamps again?
  22. Man I hear you about the bad old days there Pat! You're puttin' alot of effort into this build and your patience and persistence will pay off. That CAT engine looks good as well. Lots of little "goody" detail on that puppy.
  23. Thanks Tom and Tim! I'll be applying the amber over it. It worked pretty good for the rear side markers with a good layer of paint.
  24. I got the rear side markers painted today after applying the BMF to it and I bought some Turn Signal Amber paint today for the front two markers which I'll paint tomorrow morning. Just a couple of pics for today so I can show at least some progress today. and the front with the original front clip dry fitted into place. Front marker light has the BMF laid down and I'll be painting the amber over the BMF at the lens area in the morning.
