  1. You're on the best forums with best info and endless inspiration. Welcome brother builder.
  2. Nice to see another modeler added to the forums. What do you like to build?
  3. I use a similar method of layering leaf debris on my dioramas by first applying crumbled leaves as a base then complete newly "Green Stuff" punched one's on top as the base stuff is covered anyway. We live in a small farm town and we have a corn field close to our property. Anyone with a corn field that close will tell you that after harvest season you Will have dried corn husks in your yard. I punched some of those along with dry oak and maple leaves for dios. Each adds a slightly different color or texture.
  4. I posted the fore-mentioned ad with a smile on my face. My wife uses that exact life saving product every day. There continues to be an ever growing number of people at model related events with "light black" hair. We either laugh about our aging or waste our precious bench time worrying about it which changes nothing. Build until they bury us ! What is that saying...."He who dies with the most toys wins"
  5. You certainly live in a unique place and have an equally unique set of building challenges. The Edsel looks very nicely done. Simply remember to build what you like the way you like and have fun doing it !
  6. Outstanding realism and details. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Welcome back brother builder. Now get in there and build something !
  8. Incredibly well designed and built. Low,slick and flat out gorgeous piece of automotive art. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
  9. They certainly are still in business and offering some quite unique resin products. You should be able to find them on-line. Incidentally Andy Martin the incredible talent behind AArdvark is also one of the original six founding members of the NNL.
  10. I am unable to open any of the posted links. All I get is a message stating that the Flicker line cannot found.
  11. I googled horizontal mounted Cummins diesel engines and found a number of links and reference photos posted. You might try that method.
  12. Great detail photos. Thanks for sharing them. I also found several links on-line that have additional photos for those interested in replicating it by googling "Livingood four wheel drive".
  13. I do not have the skills to post to the forums but will gladly email them to you if you will PM me your email address. The two vehicles I used this technique on are a scratch built 1937 Curtis-Wright fifth wheel travel trailer and it's tow unit,a '37 International D300 COE truck.
  14. Having always been a rattle can man I have found and continue to use a Rustoleum product for replicating vinyl covered surfaces. I use their # 239119 Multicolor Textured product that comes in a 12 oz can. This produces a uniform low profile texture that gives the look I need. I top coat it with flat black then buff lightly for a satin finish.
  15. Thanks for posting these great videos. The sight and sounds of those steam trains brings back some great childhood memories of growing up in the 1940's. I lived about four blocks from station and would ride my '48 Schwinn bike there and marvel at the shear power and massive size of those engines. Good stuff for those here of a certain age.
