  1. Appreciate all the comments everyone! Here's the pic of the bottom bob........... Paul
  2. Got a little more done and I'm real happy to see the yellow going away. mnwildpunk, Sorry for assaulting your eyes. Hope this update helps Thanks for the advise tubbs. Thought about adding more bars to the cage. Well, I ended up doing it. Added the down bars and also put the rear bars in place. Just hope it goes back in easier than it was coming out. Broke it coming out the first time...... Engine has been primed and painted. Did some paint details and put bmf on the front cover. Then cleared........ And here is the body. It was sprayed with MM dark brown metallic. That's it for now. Thanks for looking.
  3. Beautiful! Very well done!!
  4. Very nice! The engine details and paint make this one stand out!
  5. I love that body style. Very nice!
  6. Here's a update on the charger. I but a thin coat of primer on the body and found a few small areas to take care of before the final coat of primer. While the primer is drying I went after the engine. To be honest ,I really wasn't sure if I was even going to use it. But I'm sticking to the original plan and use as much of the kit I can. The block and heads were put together and then started putting the machined blower pulley's on. Using some tubing that fit the shaft of the pulley, I made small pieces that are put into the block to mount the pulley's and give them some support. I also have a couple pictures of the radiator support in the car I missed that I wanted to show you. More to come........
  7. Thanks for the comments Everyone! Really appreciate it. To answer your ? Tubbs, The gray on the body is Tamiya Light gun metal TS-42 and the color I used on the intake manifold is tamiya TS-17 Gloss aluminum And then it was sprayed with dullcoat. You can also just try some dullcoat over the silver. You might like that. Paul
  8. Here's a build I finished a couple years back. Had a hard time trying to figure where to post it. It started as a amt '95 S-10 p/u then add the soft seal '57 to it. The chassis was stretched and adjusted the wheel base. The body is out of the box with the bed being covered. The engine is the one out of the '57 but added the induction and some details. Tried to use most of the stock interior. The floor is from the '57 and a roll cage was added. Thanks for looking. Thanks for looking.
  9. Thanks guy's. Yes slusher, That's my handy work and thank you. Worked some more on getting the dash in and fit around the roll cage. First off the dash sat in the interior bucket very poorly. I shimmed it up on both sides and leveled it. Then I took my round file and made the slots in the dash for the roll cage to slip into. In this photo you can see the hole on the right side of the dash. This area was so thin I couldn't work with it . So that area was cut out and will be filled. This parts getting pretty flimsy to handle. Here's a look at the roll cage with the rear bars that will pass through the package tray. Also worked on the radiator and support. A new support was made out of sheet plastic. The new radiator came from the parts box and the top tank is from the original rad from the kit. More to come..........
  10. Looking great. Can't wait to see the body with some paint on it. Those mods you did to the front and rear should make this one a stand out.
  11. Great looking setup! That old digger is pretty cool.
  12. Thanks for the comments everyone, really appreciate it. Worked on the roll bar and got it fit. There will be two bars going to the rear through the package tray that will be put on later. Don't know if I'm going to add any more bars. Also did some work on the dash. Had to add some material to the right top dash pad and shape it to fit. The right side of the dash face is so thin you can see through it. Have fix that also. Got the body paint black inside and now taped off and ready for some primer. Try to get some paint on it this weekend, maybe. Thanks for looking and more to come................
  13. These cars beautiful and you really did a nice job on this build. The paint looks perfect!
  14. That is one cool build! Love the color, excellent engine details. Very nice!
  15. You did a great job. Some pretty clean work!
  16. Love the engine in the gold one!! Excellent work.
  17. Turned out great, nice work!
  18. Great work!
  19. Thanks for following along, Have another update, but first............... Tubbs, Thanks for sharing that with me. Might have to give it a try sometime. The rear tires came in revell kits like dobbertons j2000, max rat chevelle, matt hay's t-bird and others from around 1987-90. I'v scrapped alot of kits for these tires. After figuring out what to do next, I decided to work on the engine bay. The detail (what there was of it) was terrible. The idea was to make new panels for the firewall and inner fenders. But first I had to work on the front suspension (again, what there is of it). I made up a couple lower control arms and bent a paper clip to make the sway bar with. Can you see how poor this kit is yet! Next I started work on the inner fenders. The panels where cut off. Take a close look at the detail in that panel. Paper templates were made up and transferred to some sheet plastic. The firewall was next. All I did was cut it in half, saved the bottom, made a new top and trimmed to fit. Still more work to do in this area. After cutting the new inner panels out, they where fit and glued in place along with adding the top pieces to finish it off. I think it looks tons better. Also got a start on the roll bar.................... More to come...................
  20. Hang in there, It'll get better nick, Just take a deep breath.
  21. I like your attention to the details and fitting of the parts. Really nice work!
  22. Thanks for the thoughts everyone. Much appreciated I know what your saying richard! The yellow this kit is molded in is like really soft and parts flex real easy. Here's a update on stretching the wheel openings. First thing I did was find center of the opening. Then I taped off the area that was going to be cut out of the quarter panel. After checking things twice, the quarter panel was cut. Once the piece was removed it was cut in half and each piece was trimmed on the ends then attached back on the quarter panel with some tape. You can see buy the gap how much the opening is stretched. A gap was purposely left on top as that is the thickness of the blade when the panel was cut. This gap will be filled with sheet plastic and super glue. And here is the panel back together and ready for some fin tuning. It's close to where I want it even at this point. Here's the other side being done........... Just a couple more..... More to come...............
  23. Started building this project awhile back and was sidelined due to a failed paint job. Got the body back to point A and is ready for paint once again. When I first started working on this, the idea was to build a simple pro street car out of it since this kit is lacking the detail to do anything else with it. Here's the kit that I am working on........... The first step on this was to get some rubber under it in the rear. What was thought to be an easy "throw the tires under it" turned into a little more work than originally thought even though it has a metal axle (which is being used). The rear end from the kit is being used. The exhaust was cut off and the rear housing figured out and narrowed......... Then the frame rails had to be moved inboard. After figuring out where to move what, the frame was modified so the tires would fit. Here you can see the mount for the metal axle. The top hole is the new hole for the axle........ Now the tires will fit, but the wheelwell opening will have to be worked on. The tires are hitting the body and pushing it outwards around the lower part of the wheel opening. Next up: Stretching the wheel openings
  24. Great work, Both turned out really nice!
