  1. My dad had one of these. Brings back some good memory's. Great job and thanks for sharing!
  2. Great work! The paint looks so smooth and the interior turned out really nice. Well down!
  3. Pretty cool! Nice work...
  4. Thanks so much for all the comments. I must say, when I started building this model, my intension was to build a quick, simple model and not get too carried away. Ya right! I always seem to have to make changes on certain areas of my cars. And this one seems to be no exception. This is taking a lot more time than I ever thought it would and it's hard to put in the time I want to behind the bench right now. I guess what I'm saying is thanks for following along and posting your comments. I'll get this thing done but just slow going at the moment. Tubbs............You always post some really good ideas and advice. I don't mind you using any of my ideas. I think its great that you find them useful on your builds. Thanks tubbs Paul
  5. This is some fantastic model building! The interior is very cool and that paint is super nice. Great work so far!
  6. Very cool! Love all the detail stuff you did. Great looking build.
  7. Really nice!
  8. Haven't had a lot of time behind the bench. But I did manage to get something done for a small update. Worked on the front grill last weekend. I knew I had to deal with this part sooner or later. Being that the headlights are chrome, I had to take on the task of fixing that little problem. Went through the parts box for some lens's that would fit the hole that was going to be in the grill after the headlights are drilled out. Everything I came up with is to big, so they will be have to be cut down to fit. So here's the grill.......... Let's remove them ugly headlight's. I first used a #11 blade and carefully opened up the hole and then used a file to finish the job... For the back side of the headlight, a paper punch was used to make the round backing I needed. These parts will get covered with BMF and the head of a small pin will be placed in the center.... And after some hugging and kissing the lens's and a couple hour's to finish it up, this is what is now going on the front of the car. Thanks everyone for the comments and will have more soon. Paul
  9. Very nice, Very clean and interesting color combo!
  10. Nice work!
  11. In 1976 I bought a 1966 nova gasser race car. Drove it on the street. Its like what's been said "must have all the stuff to make it street legal and to drive it on the street". My car was just like that! I think that your '58 is a excellent choice to build a gasser out of. Dare to different!!
  12. Very nice! (and very big looking!!) The paint looks killer on your caddy!
  13. I would love to see that at the track! Nice work, very well done!
  14. Nice work on both!
  15. You do some very clean work! The paint color is just so right for this car. Beautiful!
  16. Very nice! Love the colors. Some well done kit bashing going on here!
  17. Great job - And fast too!! It almost looks like it's right out of a drawing or something!
  18. Another item I worked on was a 4-speed shifter. I didn't want to just put a handle sticking out of the floor so I looked at some options. I decided to build a vertical gate style 4-speed shifter. Only thing is, I'm going to try and carve it as I think it's the best way to do this. Here's how I did it........... And here's the handle.......... Next I made the gate lever and attached it to the handle............. Then using tin strips of pop can I made the bottom part of the gate lever.... Threw some paint on it and this is what I ended up with. Still have to mount it to the console and also make the reverse lever. Thanks for looking. More to come...............
  19. Have a small update as I managed to get something done. Started looking at seat options, actually test fit a couple different styles. But I ended up back with the kit seats. They are kind of plane looking and need a little more than just adding seat belts. What I'm going to try and do is make a pair of headrests. I figured the thickness that was needed and glued some styrene together...... Some cutting and sanding and this is what I have to work with.......... And now there is two!. Holes are drilled in the bottom of the headrest's for the pins that will be used to mount them to the top of the seats The holes were drilled in the top of the seat and the headrest test fit.............. A little more time getting the shape to match and get some paint on them and the seats. Then I can work on the belts. May also have to lower the seat too.
  20. Excellent work stan! The engine compartment look's perfect and paint look's really smooth. Love the stance too! Your effort show's and it was fun to watch you build it. Great job!
  21. Good things come in time and your '65 turned out really good! Nice looking engine bay too!
  22. Very clean work! Well done.
  23. Great work! Love the worn seats!
  24. Thank you everyone for the kind comments. Got some time in on the dash. Worked on the dash face first. It was cover with a piece of sheet styren to cover the the original gauges. Then it was painted and cleared with the body color. I also added a few detail bits............. The new gauge package was then painted and the gauges detailed. I taped off the dash face and painted the rest of the dash to match the rest of the interior. The gauges were then mounted to the dash............... The console top was painted and BMF was added around the outer edges.......... And here is what it looks like........... Still more work to be done on the interior. More to come......... Paul
  25. That's some excellent looking detail work stan. And the engine looks great!. Nice work! Paul
