  1. Thanks for the comments everyone! Have a small update tonight. Been trying to figure out what to do with the dash. Just had to do something to it because I don't think it would ever look anywhere near good just painting it. So this is what I came up with to fix it up a bit. Went through the parts box and came up with a gauge setup out of a funny car. It has 4 gauges and a tach. The idea I have is to have it somewhat floating on the dash. Since I wanted the tach to stay with the rest of the gauges, I cut a hole in the dash for the tach to fit through The bar was trimmed a little here and there. I drilled a hole in the dash and took a piece of rod bent on the end. put it through the hole and pulled it up tight on the dash. The gauge bar was fit to the rod and glued. And this is what I ended up with. Can't wait to paint this part to cover the yellow! Thanks for looking and more to come..............
  2. Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to look at and comment on this project. Really appreciate the comments on the paint color. I was not sure if I would even like it, but you all have assured me it was a good choice. Hey BIG NICKEY.... The blower belt came with the kit I got from detail master. I do have a small update. Worked on the engine last couple nights. If you look at the pics of the engine you'll see the plate I made that goes between the blower and the injector hat. I made the lines that go from the fuel block to the sides of the plate. The wire I used is out of a grab bag of wire I have and have no idea where i got it from. The little so called fittings were cut from a length of plastic necklace from a .25 cent toy machine. And a couple pics of it on the engine............... That's it for now, more to come...........
  3. Here's a few mockup pics............ Thanks for looking and more to come.......... Paul
  4. Been a couple weeks since a update. Just haven't had much time to build lately. Worked on the blower some more. I made the blower bigger as it looked to small when the engine was in the car. Took some sheet styrene and glued them together. I then shaped it and attached it to the back of the blower and added the end plate. Made the adapter that the injector hat and fuel lines go to also.......... Ended up painting the blower body color and wrapped the adapter with BMF. Before the blower was mounted to the engine I added a coil to finish the ignition. Here's a pic of the engine...... And in the engine bay............ Got the wheels mounted to the tires.
  5. Looking good! The paint came out really nice. The engine is looking great also.

  11. Very nice! Looks good with the white interior. I worked on a 71 hemi cuda that color this last week. Wow that color is bright!
  12. Really appreciate all the great comments everyone and thanks for following along. Been slow at the bench due to nice weather and the honey do list. Got a couple hour's in tonight and worked on the tail end getting the bmf applied. I Filled the tail lamp housings again and then did the lip of the housing. And then finished off with the trim under the trunk lid and down the sides...... And here's with the lenses set in the housing. The right hand lens don't fit to well. I'll see if that can be fixed. I stripped the chrome off of the blower. Then I cut a small piece of brass rod to mount the pulley to. The hole on the front of the blower was opened up to fit the rod and the piece glued in. The last pic is what I'm thinking of using to top off this hemi, but I'm not sure yet. More to come and thanks for looking........
  13. Managed to get a little play time with the charger. Worked on the body details started putting on the bmf. I did the front and rear window moldings and the wing windows. Got the door handles. Then I went for the rear. Put bmf in the tail lamp housing for reflection. Then was getting ready to add some of the chrome around the tail lights, looked at a pic of the rear and saw it was to be black. I removed bmf from the tail lamp housing and started masking for the black. Used bmf to mask up to where the chrome is under the trunk lid and down the sides... Then covered the body with plastic wrap so as not to disturb the already done bmf around the windows. I painted the rear panel black. I think it came out ok except for the one spot on the left just below the trunk lid. Not too worry. The chrome trim will cover it. That's it for now. Paul
  14. Nice collection! Like the mopar junkers. Some of those cars remind me of building monogram kits of the 80's.

  21. Finished the long block tonight. Been trying to get a color on the valve covers that looked good to me. I painted these parts 3 times and I think the last color is going to stay. The distributor is mounted and wires run. Now if I can just figure out the blower. It's chrome right now but I think it going to end up being painted. Here's a few pics.......... That's it for now.............
  22. Really appreciate all the comments everyone. Been doing some work on the engine and getting the wheels together. Had to come up with some wheel backs to fit the tires. I'll have a update soon. Hi gene, I bend the rod with my fingers. I'v tried all kinds of ways to do this and using my fingers I think works best. O thing I never use is heat. Ruined a lot of parts that way. Hi don, No tubs on this one. Didn't want to put the effort in that area. I'm just taking a lousy kit and making the best of the parts in the kit and making a few along the way. Paul
  23. That's some serious building skills. Excellent work!!
