  3. Very cool! Nice work and great details!
  4. Finished the long block tonight. Been trying to get a color on the valve covers that looked good to me. I painted these parts 3 times and I think the last color is going to stay. The distributor is mounted and wires run. Now if I can just figure out the blower. It's chrome right now but I think it going to end up being painted. Here's a few pics.......... That's it for now.............
  5. Really appreciate all the comments everyone. Been doing some work on the engine and getting the wheels together. Had to come up with some wheel backs to fit the tires. I'll have a update soon. Hi gene, I bend the rod with my fingers. I'v tried all kinds of ways to do this and using my fingers I think works best. O thing I never use is heat. Ruined a lot of parts that way. Hi don, No tubs on this one. Didn't want to put the effort in that area. I'm just taking a lousy kit and making the best of the parts in the kit and making a few along the way. Paul
  6. That's some serious building skills. Excellent work!!

  10. Nice! Paint looks very smooth!
  11. Nice! You do some clean work!
  12. Made some progress today and have a update on the charger. The first thing I got done was finish priming and painting the roll cage. I painted it the same color as the car. Helps carry the body color into the interior.............. Spent awhile trying to figure out what to do with the engine bay color. When the chassis was painted, I also painted the inner fenders black. When mocking up things, that black just wasn't doing it for me.............. The idea that came up was to first extend the roll cage into the engine bay to take up some of the empty space.................. Made up the parts and drilled a couple holes and this is what it looks like.......... Then I primed and painted the color I thought would look the best and I think it came out ok. Things are just mocked up right now and still have to do the rad support..... More to come....................
  13. Great work, Came out really nice!
  14. excellent work! Has a beautiful finish too! But I'm not to sure about that steering wheel position. I understand That That's the way they did this back in the day, but just imagine what it was like to drive it!
  15. Nice start. What donor chassis are you using? Paul

  18. Got a little more done and I'm real happy to see the yellow going away. mnwildpunk, Sorry for assaulting your eyes. Hope this update helps Thanks for the advise tubbs. Thought about adding more bars to the cage. Well, I ended up doing it. Added the down bars and also put the rear bars in place. Just hope it goes back in easier than it was coming out. Broke it coming out the first time...... Engine has been primed and painted. Did some paint details and put bmf on the front cover. Then cleared........ And here is the body. It was sprayed with MM dark brown metallic. That's it for now. Thanks for looking.
  19. Beautiful! Very well done!!
  20. Very nice! The engine details and paint make this one stand out!
  21. I love that body style. Very nice!
  22. Here's a update on the charger. I but a thin coat of primer on the body and found a few small areas to take care of before the final coat of primer. While the primer is drying I went after the engine. To be honest ,I really wasn't sure if I was even going to use it. But I'm sticking to the original plan and use as much of the kit I can. The block and heads were put together and then started putting the machined blower pulley's on. Using some tubing that fit the shaft of the pulley, I made small pieces that are put into the block to mount the pulley's and give them some support. I also have a couple pictures of the radiator support in the car I missed that I wanted to show you. More to come........
  23. Thanks for the comments Everyone! Really appreciate it. To answer your ? Tubbs, The gray on the body is Tamiya Light gun metal TS-42 and the color I used on the intake manifold is tamiya TS-17 Gloss aluminum And then it was sprayed with dullcoat. You can also just try some dullcoat over the silver. You might like that. Paul
  24. Here's a build I finished a couple years back. Had a hard time trying to figure where to post it. It started as a amt '95 S-10 p/u then add the soft seal '57 to it. The chassis was stretched and adjusted the wheel base. The body is out of the box with the bed being covered. The engine is the one out of the '57 but added the induction and some details. Tried to use most of the stock interior. The floor is from the '57 and a roll cage was added. Thanks for looking. Thanks for looking.
  25. Thanks guy's. Yes slusher, That's my handy work and thank you. Worked some more on getting the dash in and fit around the roll cage. First off the dash sat in the interior bucket very poorly. I shimmed it up on both sides and leveled it. Then I took my round file and made the slots in the dash for the roll cage to slip into. In this photo you can see the hole on the right side of the dash. This area was so thin I couldn't work with it . So that area was cut out and will be filled. This parts getting pretty flimsy to handle. Here's a look at the roll cage with the rear bars that will pass through the package tray. Also worked on the radiator and support. A new support was made out of sheet plastic. The new radiator came from the parts box and the top tank is from the original rad from the kit. More to come..........
