  1. I rock to the Cats/Setzer just about every day to and from work! love that rockabilly beat.
  2. Totally would. Probably a couple of em. I could cram the Revell 90 LX chassis/suspension under it (with a little lengthining) and build in several configurations. Here's the LTD/Fairmont Futura Mashup I was referring to.
  3. They're both fox chassis cars. The fenders/hood/nose are different, along w/ the back of the quarters/trunk. At least on the 4 door cars. I have never seen the two cars together in person to compare. The 2 door cars though, are a whole different story. There was a "box top" Fairmont, and a Fairmont Futura. There was no 2 door fox chassis LTD
  4. I'd love to see a phantom Fairmont Futura w/ an LTD nose... a couple guys have made those happen in the 1:1 world... they look great.
  5. I'm torn, because I love everything that you've posted, but I really love the 2dr Polara and LTD/Fairmonts more... the Jeep would be great as is for 4x4 projects... I can't decide!
  6. Thanks guys. Should definitely help some. Now if we could just get a sudden heatwave here so I can fling some paint haha
  7. My Bronco will probably not make it into color... It's been so cold here. Plus I'm going to be busy literally all weekend. So hopes of getting it done are doubtful. Working on it just to work on it at this point.
  8. Thanks, yeah I should have used white glue for the beads and for the "glass" but I wanted to get it done quickly. Next time I'll definitely use white glue. I'm going to weather this one just a tiny bit, so it should mask a few not so perfect spots. But thank you for the advice. I'll definitely follow that next time around. Light bars are cool!
  9. I also decided it was time to finish the front bumper. Well, almost. A few more braces and some sheet for a skid plate and it's done. So I started on a rear. I used a roundfile to shape the rear frame rails to accept the tube bumper. Sits in there perfectly. I saw a bumper on the internet that I loved, and so I decided to replicate it. more to come
  10. Thank you. I'm getting excited about it now. I wasn't at first after I started it, but now it's starting to get a personality.
  11. Thought I posted an update here... guess I was imagining it. So here it is. I need to keep working on this thing. But I don't think it will be done by the deadline. I built a crude but effective LED light bar for it last night. My non hazing glue, hazed the plastic a bit. Oh well. Made from right angle strips of evergreen, w/ a piece of evergreen sheet on the back. Covered with BMF on the inside and then Czech glass beads w/ chrome insides inserted into the homemade "tray" then a sheet of clear plastic glued over top, some bent pieces of evergreen I had laying around that I was messing with and about to throw away, those became the "brackets" So here's another mock up of this thing. I just love looking at it mocked up. This thing is gonna look sweet when it's done. If it ever gets done. I also decided it was time to finish the front bumper. Well, almost. 13. I really don't think I'll get done on time. If I can't get paint done by this evening, I probably wont make it. Today is like the last nice day we'll have here in the Cincinnati area from what I'm seeing. And here I am stuck at work. If there are enough people for it I'm totally down to extend the date. Although we probably shouldn't make it a habit. I'm finally off of working overtime (although I miss the money) which means I can finally get some building done. I'll probably be working on it all weekend. I have an idea for the paint job but if I can't lay down nice paint due to weather, it will probably get hand painted camo sadly.
  14. Did a small amount of work to my Bronco yesterday. I got the basic design of the front tube bumper finally done. I still need to make the downtubes and side tubes, and a skid plate setup for it. Also got my dual shock mounting bar setup glued to the frame. I still need to create my shocks and coil springs still. Any tips for doing so? I want to create a few other bits for it too, in time. Hopefully before it's too late! here's how it sits right now Maybe I'll have paint on in this weekend?
  15. I realized I also want to cut out the stock molded in exhaust. Which, as of this writing, I haven't done yet. But, hope to. I also realized it's too late to get the "engine of my choice" for this thing too... Oh well. I'll make due. So, I also think I got my front tube bumper finally laid out the way I want it. I just need to make some down tubes to go to the frame and make a skid plate setup too. I also finished the mounting bars for the dual shocks... which I've also yet to make. Hopefully this week along w/ coil springs. Still a few other things I'm thinking of adding, depending on if I can get it done in time.
  16. Interesting. I'll try a dusting coat instead of a moderate coat.
  17. EDIT: Since I failed to meet the deadline for Cannonball 2016, I almost gave up on it... but I have too much time invested in this project to give up. So it continues! I don't believe I ever created a thread for this for updates besides what I posted in the cannonball thread. I'm hoping this renews my interest in this project, because I'd actually like to finish a cannonball at some point! So here's what I started with: I'm going for something like this... I decided to use the wheels and tires from the snap tite jeep rubicon because they were 5 lug instead of 6 lug. I raised the front suspension by basically breaking it apart and bending it a little, and cutting off the "hubs" and re-gluing them straight. I also made some "shackles" for the rear to raise it up a bit. Then I made a roll cage for it. However after seeing some of the Australian road laws about having NO bars coming forward of the front seats... I may have to modify my cage.... I also made a spare tire mount for the rear of the cage. Can never have too many spares in the outback! The sides of the bars at the rear should have room for 2 fuel cans. 1 on each side. What's nice about it is, I can still put the top on it... you know, in case the weather gets bad lol Also discovered that the pegasus disc brake rotors fit on all 4 wheels. So this Bronco will have 4 wheel disc brakes. Since this is a Bronco there was usually 1 fuel tank, but in my favor the old monogram error of using the F150 chassis has blessed me with 2 fuel tanks! However I will have to figure out some sort of "fill" for the 2nd tank since there's only 1 fuel door. Last I left off, I was working on an offroad tube bumper and skid plates for the chassis. I wasn't having good luck bending evergreen for the bumper and getting consistent results and that's when I boxed it back up. I still need to make some lights and a winch for it too. I'm also still debating a powertrain. I'm thinking a 5.4L DOHC w/ a carburetor. Will have to make a hat for it to go to a snorkel... you know.. just in case. I'm also thinking orange and white for a paint job, a very 80's original look to it.
  18. I'm not a truck guy, but I came here to this thread for some reason... then I saw those guitars... that must be why! great looking stuff. I can't play for anything, but I really love guitars. I have a few myself. I also have an aluminum stand-up bass, currently stripping the paint so I can polish it.
  19. What a beautiful looking car. Also can't wait to see if the AFX version will come out... Those Cragar wheels!!!!!
  20. right? I loved the '64 Galaxie's they had in the last movie!
  21. absolutely amazing! love it! very nice work. I like how you threw in the pic of the real foot wash area at the end haha
  22. Beautiful '57. Love the all black outside treatment. Almost looks like it needs a spotlight on the A-pillar because to me, it looks like it's an undercover or government car. Men in Black maybe! haha As far as backgrounds, I like both of your background treatments. It's nice to see a car on it's own, as to not draw too much attention from it, but I also like seeing how it fits in a realistic environment like your parking lot. So I'm for both.
  23. I have to start working on my bronco again... in hopes I can actually finish a cannonball at some point. This year has been hectic for me. And now it's just about too cold for me to paint anything anymore too.
